「羽ばたきもせずに見えるわけないさ」。最新シングル『great man』でナナが示した新しい世界!!!!

時代変わったと言ってしまうのは、簡単だ。かつて、この(ヴィジュアル系)シーンでは、結成から3年目にどの位置に立っているかが今後を示唆すると言われていた。自分たちの器以上の会場を設定し、派手な戦略を仕掛け、話題性だけを隠れ蓑に、短期間で次々とキャパシティを上げてゆく、その成功を耳にし、勢いに乗り遅れまいとファンたちも流行りに便乗してゆく。でも、筐体だけが大きくなり、中身が伴わないバンドたちが増え、いつしか倍々ゲームを行う手法は主流から外れていった。

ナナが復活したのは、何時頃だったろうか。メンバー自身が、他に母体となるバンド活動や、様々な個々の動きもあったことから、復活以降の彼らは、短距離走を競い合う人たちを横目に、ゆったりとした歩みを形作ってきた。動きが限定的になるというマイナス面を、ナナは逆にプラスの魅力に変え、ライブにおいても、音源制作の面でも、"量"や"話題性"ではなく、徹底して"質"にこだわり続けてきた。結果、ナナは大きな飛躍はない変わりに、確実な支持層をつかみ、揺るがない自分たちの土壌を作りあげ、その土壌を、今も豊かに耕し続けている。むしろ最近のナナは、活動の速度をこれまで以上に上げている。理由は簡単だ。今、羽ばたくことが、バンドの熱量を良い形で上げてゆくことをメンバー自身が知っているからだ。

ナナが配信リリースした最新ナンバー『great man』の中、彼らは「羽ばたきもせずに見えるわけないさ」と歌っている。『great man』、触れたとたんに、胸を熱く騒がせ、行動せずにいれない気持ちにしてゆく楽曲だ。
彼らは知っている。"待つ時期"と"攻める時期"があることを。今、何度目かの成熟期を迎えているからこそ、ナナはさらなる地平へと跳躍してゆくために、『great man』という胸踊らせる楽曲を、閉塞感の強い今の時代へ突きつけた。
「エモい」と言ってしまえば、いいだろうか。とにかくエモいんだよ。パッションに満ちた『great man』、歌詞の一節ではないが、まさに「心奪う歌」だ。


ナナは『great man』を手に、8月と12月に2本のワンマン公演を行う。日程は、以下のように発表になっている。

12月14日(木) 渋谷REX

なぜ、期間が空いているのか。そこに、どんな意味が隠されているのか。気になるだろう。その理由は、彼らのライブへ「触れもせずにわかるわけがないさ」。気になるのなら、まずは行動に移そうか。何事も、そう。心が動いた先に、その人が動いた理由の真実が待っているのだから。
