琵琶湖の環境保全を掲げた滋賀県下最大の音楽イベント「イナズマロック フェス」、今年も開催！

滋賀ふるさと観光大使を務めるアーティストの西川貴教が1月26日（月）に三日月大造・滋賀県知事のもとへ表敬訪問を行ない、9月19日（土）、20日（日）に「イナズマロック フェス 2015」を開催することを宣言。地元の協力を要請した。

この日、滋賀県公館と草津市役所を訪れた西川は、昨年9月に開催した「イナズマロック フェス 2014」の収益の一部である250万円を滋賀県に、50万円を草津市に寄附。また、これに併せて「イナズマロック フェス2014」出演者により実施した、琵琶湖環境保全のためのチャリティーオークションの売上金￥386,323も滋賀県に寄附した。

「イナズマロック フェス」は西川が発起人となり、琵琶湖の水質保全と地域振興をテーマに掲げ、2009年より草津市烏丸半島で開催している滋賀県下最大の大型野外ライヴイベントで、昨年はフリーエリアを含めて2日間で過去最高動員となる約10万人の観衆が訪れた。

今回の表敬訪問で三日月知事は“イナズマロックフェスには毎回参加し、『今、滋賀はこのままでいいのか。できることはないのか』というメッセージをもらっている。西川さんとは同世代なので、共に新しいまちづくりをしていきたい”と語り、これを受けて西川は“県外からの参加も多く、ありがたく思うと共に、県民みんながつながっている、参加しているといえるものになれば。県全体を強化していけば、おのずと明るく活気づいていくと思う。10回目の節目へ向かってのカウントダウンとして大成功させたい”とコメント。同日、草津市役所で行なわれた草津市長への表敬訪問では、橋川渉市長が“音楽を通して恩返しいただいたものを、琵琶湖・草津市の環境のために大切に使わせていただきたい。地元の一大イベントとして全国から来てもらえるようになった”と感謝を述べていた。

また、公館では一昨年より「イナズマロック フェス」 が地元貢献の一環として取り組んでいる「近江米プロジェクト」に携わった農業高校の生徒たちとの交流訪問も実現。この「近江米プロジェクト」は県外来場者が多い「イナズマロック フェス」の特性を活かし、滋賀県の魅力を県内外へ広くPRしようという試みで、昨年は滋賀県産の新品種「みずかがみ」の栽培に、フェス公式キャラクター「タボくん」と地元の農業高校生が初めて取り組んだ。タボくんと高校生たちの育てたこの米は、「イナズマロック フェス」で販売するカレーライスの米として提供されたほか、全国規模で開催される消費者の食べ比べによる米の品評会でも優秀な成績を収めており、近江米新ブランドの認知に貢献している。

西川はこの取り組みに手を挙げた県立湖南農業高校、県立長浜農業高校の生徒たちに感謝の言葉を伝え、タボくんと共に米作りに励んだ高校生らの労をねぎらい、“良さが認められ素晴らしいことだ。みんなの知識をもっと活かしてほしい”と期待を込めた。高校生たちは“西川さんの優しさが伝わってきた”と感激の様子だった。
