Mr.Children、ニューアルバム収録曲が細田守の最新映画主題歌に起用

Mr.Childrenのニューアルバムに収録されている楽曲「Starting Over」が細田守監督の映画『バケモノの子』の主題歌に起用された。

06年の『時をかける少女』、09年の『サマーウォーズ』、そして12年の『おおかみこどもの雨と雪』と、手掛けた作品すべてが傑作として評価され、国内外の映画賞を席巻し、今や世界で最も注目を集めるアニメーション映画監督となった細田守。 彼の最新作で、今年度最注目作品でもある『バケモノの子』は、バケモノと少年の奇妙な師弟関係を軸に、バケモノたちの棲む異世界「渋天街（じゅうてんがい）」での修行と冒険、リアルな渋谷を舞台にした壮大なアクション、そして親子の絆やヒロインとの 淡い恋愛など、あらゆる世代が共感できるエンターテインメントのすべてが詰まった《新冒険活劇》だ。

映画製作陣は、すべての世代が楽しめる夏休みの国民映画を目指す中で、主題歌を日本を代表するアーティストであるMr. Children に依頼。打合せを重ねる中で、6月4日（木）に発売となるMr. Childrenのニューアルバム『REFLECTION』に収録される「Starting Over」を細田守監督が聴いたところ、歌詞・楽曲共に『バケモノの子』の世界観を表現していると絶賛。本作の主題歌となることが決定した。

声優キャストには、役所広司、宮﨑おあい、染谷将太、広瀬すず、津川雅彦、リリー・フランキー、そして大泉洋と、錚々たる顔ぶれが集結。豪華な声優陣に負けない豪華なアーティストの参加に、本作への期待がさらに高まる。
