凛として時雨、 2015年の締めくくりとなるライヴをパシフィコ横浜で開催

凛として時雨が11月20日、ワンマンとしては締めくくりとなる『凛として時雨Tour 2015 FINAL Hyper S.O.S.』をパシフィコ横浜で開催した。


関東では東京国際フォーラムと並ぶ屈指の大ホールで、荘厳かつモダンなムードに良い緊張感が高まっていく。定刻に暗転し、おなじみの携帯電話やフィールド音が特徴的なSEが流れ、大きな拍手に迎えられて登場したメンバーは、なんとオープニングに超初期ナンバー「鮮やかな殺人」を演奏。

ライヴ・アレンジも現在形にアップデートされ、しかもおのおのの楽器の出音や、ホールならではの残響も相まって新鮮な衝撃を冒頭から与えてくれた。

ゴシック風の布と緩急の効いたライティングもあり、まるで絵画を見ているような演出も高いクオリティで楽曲を盛り上げる。ニューミニアルバム『es or s』から「SOSOS」「Karma Siren」と立て続けに演奏し、息を呑むようなエンディングが決まるたびに、純粋に演奏に対する賛辞としての大きな拍手が起こる。椅子席のライヴはこれまでも行ってきた彼らだが、今日ほどファンが立ち尽くすほど音楽的なステージはなかったのではないだろうか。

アッパーな「DISCO FLIGHT」でようやく手を上げたり、エネルギーを表に出し始めたファンに、この日は「Enigmatic Feeling」に続き、同曲をタイトルチューンとするシングルのカップリングである「Dynamite Nonsense」」というレアな選曲も。ドリーミーとノイジーが入り乱れ、構成的にもアップダウンの多いこの曲が、意外にも骨太なロックナンバーに聴こえたのも、バンドの音作りがベルリン・レコーディングの『es or s』を経て、よりダイナミックでロウ（生）感を打ち出してきたことをダイレクトに反映していて聴き応え、見応えともに圧倒的だった。エフェクター系統のトラブルが発生するも、ピエール中野のMCで会場を盛り上げ、ナイスな流れで、時雨流ファンクネスが溢れる「Mirror Frustration」が、ミラーボールのまばゆい光とともに放たれた。

また、345のベーシストとしての表現力とスキルが最大限発揮された印象の「I was music」「Metamorphose」の流れも、息をのむ美しさだったし、ピエールの歌うようなスネアの強弱や、TKのハイトーンかつロングトーン、そして珍しく地声に近いところから絶叫までの振り幅の「夕景の記憶」にも驚かされた。

おなじみピエール中野のMCからのドラムソロ。再びTKと345が加わり、終盤に向けてさらにギアアップ。「abnormalize」「Telecastic fake show」「nakano kill you」という怒涛の展開に。そうしたハードでカオティックなナンバーも、演奏の細部がより研ぎ澄まされ、音の説得力が増幅しているのだから、ファンの感動も増して当然だろう。これまで刺さるような音像とヒリヒリした印象を持っていた曲がもっと大きなグルーヴと音楽としての深みを湛えて鳴っているのだから。

ノイジーなのに包容力や癒やしを感じるという、矛盾したことを現実にやってのけてしまえる、それが今の凛として時雨なのだ。そんな発見の連続だったこの日の最終曲は、いつも節目のライブのラストにセットされる「傍観」だった。しかも、少年の孤独を訥々と告白していくような歌詞のクリアさ、徐々に爆発へ向かう生き物めいた演奏のダイナミクス、ステージ上を照らさず、まさに歌詞通り“僕は見えない”状態で想像力を掻き立てる演出も白眉。全身全霊でフィードバックノイズを生み出したTKはギターをふわっと浮かせるように放ち、頭上で拍手し、ステージを去っていった。

今年、ベストアルバムと新しいミニアルバムをリリースし、2度に渡るツアーを行った凛として時雨。ここ数年で最も豊かな変化を見せた1年を証明するようなファイナル公演に感服する他なかった。
