GLAY、ニューシングル「G4・IV」よりTERU作詞作曲「空が青空であるために」のMVを公開

GLAYのニューシングル「G4・IV」から、TERUが作詞作曲を務め、テレビアニメ『ダイヤのA –SECOND SEASON-』オープニングテーマに起用された「空が青空であるために」のMVが解禁となった。

「空が青空であるために」は、同作のオープニングテーマの依頼を受け、TERUが書き下ろした楽曲で、TERU本人が「涙を飲み、また未来に希望を持って歩んでいく高校球児達 の切ない思いを表現した」と語るTERUらしい爽やかで疾走感のあるロックナンバー。

MVも学園でのテーマに制作され、監督はGLAYの51枚目のシングル「百花繚乱」のMVも手がけた斎藤渉が担当。主演女優にはフジテレビ 『あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。』などにも出演した今大注目の女優浜辺美波が抜擢され、ふとしたきっかけで蒼き魂に火がつく若者たちを描いた 疾走感溢れる映像となった。なお、OB役としてTERUが歌唱出演しているシーンも要注目だ。

今作「G4・IV」は、収録曲4曲すべてのMVが制作されたことも話題を呼んでおり、JIRO作曲でテレビ朝日『お願い！ランキング』1月度エンディングテーマソング「Scoop」と、TAKURO作詞作曲で3月26日に開業する北海道新幹線開業イメージソング 「Supernova Express 2016」に次いで解禁となった。「彼女はゾンビ」のMVも近日解禁予定なので、こちらもお見逃しなく。

また、1月21日から1月31日まで、西武新宿駅前のユニカビジョンにてGLAYを大特集することも決定。「G4・IV」の4曲全MVのほか、CD特典映像になっている函館アリーナ・こけら落とし公演『My Private “Jealousy”』のライヴ映像も先行公開される。

シングル“百花繚乱”から携わらせて頂き2本目になる今作では歌詞の世界観を重視し、ふとしたきっかけで蒼き魂に火がつき大きな熱量になる若者達のシンプルなストーリーを通して青春時代の輝きを表現しようと思いました。

撮影時TERUさんには、この学校のOBという設定で在校生達に歌いかけてほしいとご説明しました。

OBだからシンプルな白シャツかなと楽しそうに衣装を選んでいた姿がとてもチャーミングでした。笑

ストーリーパートに登場する浜辺美波さんは今大注目の女優さんで撮影ではひたすら走ったり寒空の下長時間寝そべったりとハードな内容でしたが、楽曲の世界観を理解し、一生懸命演じる姿にスタッフも一丸となって
正に魂に火のついた現場でした。

この楽曲に込められた思いがミュージックビデオを通して多くの視聴者の背中を押す力になれば良いなと思います。
