高橋まこと（ex: BOØWY）が椎名慶治（ex:SURFACE） らと新バンドを結成

元BOØWYのドラムー 高橋まことが中心となり、新バンドJET SET BOYS（ジェットセットボーイズ）が結成された。現在、オリジナルアルバムを制作中とのことだ。

気になるメンバーは下記の通り！
・DRUM：高橋まこと（ex: BOØWY）
・BASS：tatsu（LÄ-PPISCH）
・GUITAR：友森昭一（ex:AUTO-MOD、REBECCA）
・VOCAL：椎名慶治（ex:SURFACE）

今やアナログからデジタルに移行している様々な音楽シーンの中、その時代時代で活躍して来た面々。あの頃の匂い、あの頃の衝動、あの頃の少年のように、どんなに年を重ねても色褪せない、変わらない、そんな思いを込めたバンドがこのJET SET BOYSである。

そして、6月4日の新宿LOFTからツアーがスタート。メンバーの高橋にとっては1981年のBOØWYのデビューステージから実に35年ぶりとなる。この新宿LOFTでのバンド始動は非常に興味深く、感慨深いメモリアルな1日となることは間違いない。

東日本大震災がひとつのターニングポイントだったと思う。
それまでは、解散して30年以上も経つ［BOØWYの高橋まこと］という肩書きで来た。そのままの形で音楽を続けている自分自身に、何となく違和感を感じはじめた。
『本当にこれで良いのか？残された人生でもう一度バンドを組んでみたい。』
そんな気持ちが震災後から芽生え始めたのかもしれない。
自分のパートとしてドラムをやり続けている中で、他の楽器と組まなければ自分の立ち位置がないなかで、俺はスタジオミュージシャンではなくバンドのドラムとして生きていたいと…。心の中でフラストレーションを抱えながら、バンドをやり続けているミュージシャンを横目で見て素直に羨ましかった。
『死んだら最後、悔いのない人生をもう一度バンドで終わりたい。』
こだわりを捨て、変なプライドを捨て、純粋にバンドを一緒にやってくれるメンバーを探し始め、約2年の歳月をかけて3人と出会った。

そしてこの3人に想いを伝えた。
『シンプルな形態でもう一度バンドをやりたい』と。
彼ら3人は何の不満もなく、二つ返事で快く受けてくれた。
『素直に嬉しかった。』
昔、まだ音楽で食えなかった、若い頃のような気持ちでゼロから始めたい。
メンバーそれぞれに気持ちは伝えなくても、分かり合える感覚でいられる。
『バンドはチームであり、ひとつの目標に向かう生き物だと思う。』
