wyse、12年ぶりのシングル「Unexisted Sound」を発表！

wyseが、12年ぶりとなるシングル「Unexisted Sound」をリリースすることがわかった。

2005年2月13日、渋谷公会堂でのライブを最後に解散し、6年後の2011年2月14日に再始動を発表、同年7月2日に恵比寿LIQUIDROOMでのライブで完全復活を遂げたwyse。

かつて6年間の活動でバンドを終わらせたwyseが、来年2017年2月でバンドが経験していない“7年目”を迎えることになる。近年のインタビューで彼らは口ぐちに「解散前の最後の1年間にあった不穏な要素はまったくない」と現在の状況を語り、7年目の先に続くバンドの未来を見据えている。

そうしたなかで発表する12年ぶりのシングル「Unexisted Sound」。直訳すれば“存在しなかった音”と名付けられた今作は、過去に鳴らすことができなかった“7年目のwyseの音”を示唆するものだといえる。

1曲目のTAKUMA（2nd Vo/B）作詞・作曲による「Re-Light」は、以前リリースに向けて制作が進んでいたものの完成には至らず、TAKUMAの記憶の中にしまい込まれていた楽曲だという。しかし、今回のシングル制作に際しての曲作りを行なうなかで生まれてきたフレーズがその記憶の扉を開き、いまのwyseとして演るべき楽曲として誕生した。

2曲目のHIRO（G）作詞・作曲の「disillusion」は、wyseならではの“歌モノ”を重視したもので、今年6月に行なわれたライブでいち早くファンに披露されている。そして3曲目に収録されているwyse作詞・MORI（G）とTAKUMAの共作曲による「BLAST」は、＜ここが始まりのとき＞という一節が未来へ向かうバンドの決意を象徴するような、ポジティブなエネルギーを漲らせている。

そんな3曲を収録したシングル「Unexisted Sound」は、7月23日（土）SHIBUYA REX公演からライブ会場で販売開始となるほか、Brand X、ライカエジソンでも販売される。また、wyse web shopでも予約を受付中。存在しなかったwyseの7年目を、一緒に目撃してほしい。
