TAKURO（GLAY）が“ギタリスト”としての自身を捉えた1stソロ作のアートワークを公開

GLAYのリーダーでありギタリスト、メインコンポーザーを務めるTAKUROが12月14日にリリースする1stソロインストアルバム『Journey without a map』のアートワークを解禁した。

今回のアートワークは「自然にギターを弾いているギタリストTAKUROとしての姿を表現したい」という希望の元、現在制作中のMV撮影現場で撮影された一枚である。この写真からはGLAYのTAKUROではなく、ただ一人の「地図無き音の旅」をするギタリスト・TAKUROの姿が表されている。

B'zの松本孝弘をプロデューサーに迎え入れ、ロサンゼルス在住のトップミュージシャンとレコーディングを敢行した意欲作TAKUROソロ1stインストアルバム『Journey without a map』。TAKURO所有の3台のギブソンレスポールのビンテージギターを使用した深みのあるサウンドになっており、ジャズ、ブルースを基調とした音作りで、1音1音こだわり抜いて制作されている。またCD+DVD盤のDVDにはTAKUROがギターを始めてから本作完成までのギタリストとしての軌跡を描いたドキュメンタリーと、「Guess Who」のミュージックビデオやメイキングが収録される。なおこのアルバムはアナログ盤も同時にリリースされるので、そちらも合わせて確認してほしい。

ギターに詩を読ませるが如く、ギターで弾くメロディーの中に様々な情景や感情が浮かぶような作品にしたいと思っていました。
シンプルなラインにじっくりギターで表情をつける事を念頭においてレコーディングを進めていました。
GLAYとはずいぶん違う音楽に聴こえますが、これもまた僕自身素直に浮かんだ音楽なのでギターアルバムは続けて作りたいと思っています。
Journey without a mapはギターを弾くのが大好きな男が気ままに小さなバーで毎週末弾いている、、、、そんな自分を想像しながら作ったアルバムです。
一息つきたい時にお酒でも飲みながら聴いていただけると嬉しいです。

長年に渡る友情をこの様に音楽として共に形に出来た事をとても嬉しく思います。
GLAY のイメージとは違う彼本来の穏やかな人柄から生まれたメロディ、ギタリストとして今尚進化しようと努める彼の姿勢がこの作品には網羅されています。
