【ammoflight】シンガーとしてもう一段上にいける

　そのタイトルからして、まさに夏モード全開の新曲「夏色ドット」。同曲の制作過程を津久井恒仁（Vo&Gu）に語ってもらった。

──「夏色ドット」は、まさに夏らしく爽快感のある曲ですね。

「夏に出すんだから夏の歌がいいんじゃないかってことで、もともとあった曲に手を加えたという感じですね。」

──原曲は結構前からあったのですか？

「1stシングルの『桜グラフィティ』を録ってる時には録り終えていましたね。自分の深いところを突いたような暗めの曲だったので、180度ぐらい変わりました（笑）」

──なのに、夏の曲にしようと？（笑）

「そういうポテンシャルが原曲にあったんでしょうね。プロデューサーのシライシ紗トリさんと一緒に作っていったんですけど、出来上がったものを聴いて“可能性ってすごくあるんだな”って感じました。歌詞やテーマが変わると音選びとかもそれに沿ったものになるので、どんどん変わっていって、夏の曲になったというか。弾ける感じとか、さわやかな感じとか、楽しい感じを音で表現しないといけなかったので、楽器隊がフレーズをいろいろ作り上げていって、そこにシライシさんが上モノなどのバンド以外のギミックを入れたりして。実は夏をテーマにしたほうがいいってことになった時に、僕もシライシさんも別々で歌詞を書いたんですけど、僕の歌詞はまだ少し重かったし（笑）、シライシさんの歌詞のほうが言葉の選び方もキャッチーで、歌った時に曲の雰囲気とも合っていたので、シライシさんのものが採用になったんです。」

──頭の《LOOPしてる君の粒子》というフレーズのインパクトは絶大ですよね。

「そうですよね。“粒子”が“ドット”なわけですけど、その一行がなかなか決まらなかったんですよ。でも、その言葉が出た時に、“おー！”って。シライシさん的には、その一行は“津久井のイメージ”だそうです（笑）」

──そんな歌詞での歌入れはどうでした？

「自分が書いた歌詞じゃないものを歌うのが初めてだったので、よりイメージしないといけない…自分の世界観に当てはめないといけないので、いつも以上に考えながら歌いましたね。頭の中に絵を作り上げて、それに合わせて歌うっていう感じでした。」

──Aメロはちょっと距離を置いていて、サビで一気に弾けるのですが、そういう歌い方もイメージして？

「もともとのメロディーがそういう感じだったので…でも、結構苦労した点ではあったんですよ。僕は歌い上げる癖があるんで、歌を置きにいくっていうことはあんまりしたことがなったんで。逆にサビは2回ぐらいしか歌ってないんですけどね。」

──自分にない言葉使いもありますしね。

「ほんとに、そういうポイントが何カ所もあったので…変な話、すごく照れ臭い言葉もあったりして（笑）。でも、それをちゃんと歌で表現できたら、シンガーとしてもう一段上にいけると思ったので、そこは咀嚼しつつ学んでいった感じですね。」

──カップリングにもアンモフライトらしいエネルギッシュでポップな「スーパーステップ」、肩の力を抜いて作った脱力系の『「REC」』とあって、いろいろなタイプの曲が増えてきましたね。

「そうですね。目指しているフィールドがあって、そこに行くためには絶対的に自分に足りなかったものがある…それこそデビューしてからっていうのは、それを痛感する日々だったんですよ。でも、まだ自分たちには行くところがあるということだし、いろんなものが前よりもはっきりと見えるようになってきたし…頑張ります！」
