TAKURO（GLAY）、初のソロツアー完走！ 「彼らがいたからここまで来れた」

TAKURO（GLAY）が自身初のソロアルバム『Journey without a map』を引っさげて行なったライブツアー「Journey without a map 2017」が、2月28日 Zepp Tokyoで千秋楽を迎えた。

GLAYサウンドとは打って変わってジャジーでブルージーなアルバム『Journey without a map』。ライブでもTAKUROの奏でる美しいギターの音色で会場はジャジーな空気に包まれていた。

また、訪れた地域で彼と所縁のある人と行なったサプライズセッションもまた、このツアーの魅力であった。 ツアーがスタートして2公演目の品川ステラボールでは、GLAYの相棒HIASHIがゲスト出演！ その後、岸田邦雄、清水末寿、真鍋吉明（the pillows）等とのセッションを経て、最終日前日のZepp Tokyo公演には、TAKURO自身が尊敬してやまない先輩であるSUGIZO（LUNA SEA/X JAPAN）がサプライズ登場！ ソロアルバムの特典DVDにも収められているが、TAKUROにとってSUGIZOは自身のギターヒーローであり、そんな彼と共にプレイ出来ることを通して「人生に地図は無い。でも、こうして共に演奏出来たことで自分は間違っていなかったと感じます」と語った。

ツアーでは常々「人生に地図なんて無い」と語っていたTAKUROだが、全15公演をやり遂げて彼が辿り着いた答えは「地図の無い人生で困ったらどうすればいいか、それは大切な仲間に頼ること。彼らがいたからここまで来れた」とソロ活動を通して改めてGLAYの絆を感じていた。

そんな想いを込めてライブの最後に演奏した、アルバムタイトルにもなっている「Journey without a map」。激しくも切ないこの楽曲は、まさにTAKUROの人生を物語っているかのようであり、熱い空気が会場を包みながらライブは幕を閉じた。

4月からはGLAYのツアーが決定。この旅を終えたTAKUROがどんな音を聴かせてくれるのか、今から楽しみだ。
