【nano.RIPE】相手の気持ちは自分の物差しで測るしかない結局“絵空事”は私の中の絵空事

　昨年1stアルバム『星の夜の脈の音の』が好評を得た、nano.RIPEが待望のシングル「絵空事」をリリース。バラエティーに富んだ内容で、聴き応えのある作品となった本作について、きみコ（Vo&Gu）に語ってもらった。

──新曲「絵空事」はノリの良いアッパーなナンバーですが、アニメ『さんかれあ』の主題歌ということで？

今回は、前の『ハナノイロ』の時とは違って、お話を読んで書き下ろしたものではないんです。2010年末ぐらいに、ほとんどかたちはできていて…私たちは本当に曲作りが好きなので、ストックというか、リリースがなくても常に曲を書き溜めているんです。今回『さんかれあ』というアニメのタイアップをやらせていただくことが決まった時に、作品のイメージにこれが合うと思って。

──アニメは女子高生がゾンビになる話ですね。

そうそう。でも、ぶっとんだ話かなと思いきや、普通に高校生の恋愛模様や悩み、将来への不安なども描かれているんです。ヒロインの散華礼弥ちゃんはゾンビだから夜は眠くならないんだけど、だからみんなが寝ている時間にずっとひとりで考え事をしていて。…私も夜はなかなか寝られなくて、そういう時に曲を書くことが多いんです。そこの部分は、ちょっとリンクしていますね。

──実際に≪眠れない夜に…≫というフレーズで始まるし。

はい。そこは上手くハマりましたね。

──そもそも、どんなふうにできた曲なのですか？

当時は深夜のバイトをしていて、帰り道に車を運転しながら空が明けていくのを見ていた時…歌詞に出てくる“半分に割れた太陽”というのは、日の出の半分だけ出ている太陽のことなんです。その時にサビ頭のメロディーと歌詞が、一気にブワッと出てきました。あの頃は毎日バイトで忙しくて、空いている時間をやっと見つけて書いていたという感じだったので、歌詞に出てくる“自由に”とか“もっと高く”という言葉には、その時の気持ちがすごく込められています。

── “絵空事”というタイトルはどういう気持ちを込めて？

絵空事って綺麗な意味と皮肉った意味の両方で使われるので、そういう言葉がすごく好きなんです。でも、綺麗なことは大好きだけれど、自分の手に収まり切れない綺麗事を言うのは嫌で。だから、今回は“絵空事”というタイトルで広い世界を想像するかもしれないけれど、私の持てるだけの荷物しか持っていない、つまり私の中の“絵空事”を歌っています。

──《少し枯れた声で絵空事を歌う》と自分を皮肉っているのもnano.RIPEらしいと思いました。

私は2番で毒を吐くのが好きで…これはアニメでは流れない部分なんで、《感情なんてだれかの錆びた物差しで測るものではないだろう》とも歌っています。同じ“絵空事”でも、私が思い描いているものと、みなさんが思い描くものは違う。私がどんなに誰かの気持ちを分かろうとしても、結局は私の中にある物差しでしか測ることができないから、その物差しが違ったら全然理解できないんだということも歌っています。

──相手の気持ちをどうやって理解するか…それは、人としての永遠のテーマのようなものだと思います。3曲目の「アンサーソング」は、その問いに対するひとつのアンサーのような曲ですね。

はい。常々私は相手との距離が近づけば近づくほど、言葉はどんどんいらなくなっていくのが理想だと思っていて、その気持ちを詰め込みました。恋人でも、友達でも、家族でも、どんな関係と受け取ってもらっても良いですが…近くなればなるほど、目に見えなくても答えはふたりの間にちゃんとある。それに気付いたというか、そう信じたいというか。この曲ができた時にずっと悩んでいたことが、すごくちっぽけだったと思えたんですよ。だから、私が今まで悩んできたことに対しての“アンサーソング”ですね。

──2曲目の「マイガール」はアコギのしっとり系ですね。

マコーレ・カルキンの映画に『マイガール』という作品があって、9歳くらいの男の子と女の子の初恋の物語ですが、私はそれがずっと好きだったんですね。それで、05年くらいに『マイガール』という曲を作って、でももうちょっと書き直したいなと思っていた時、ギターの（ササキ）ジュンが曲を持ってきて。サビの部分を聴いた時にパッと歌詞とか風景が浮かんで、映画『マイガール』の主題歌を書くくらいの勢いで一気に書き上げました。

──作曲はジュンさんとの共作になっているのですが。

私が気に入ったのはサビだけで、ABメロはイマイチだからって、私が書き換えました（笑）

──ノスタルジックなムードがすごく良いですね。

きっと誰もがこういう切なくて淡い、今思い出すとキュンとするような恋の経験があるんじゃないかなって。映画では男の子が亡くなってしまうちょっと悲しい結末なんですね。原曲はそんなことを感じさせないぐらいにライトな感じでしたが、そのあたりも感じさせつつというものに仕上がりました。

──nano.RIPEの場合、昔作った曲とか最近作った曲とか、あまり関係ないんですね。

インディーズ時代の『ホームシックパーティー』という曲を、先日リハの休憩時間にひとりで歌っていたら、自分でもびっくりするくらい歌っていることが変わってなくて（笑）。結局、私の歌詞は言いたいことはひとつで、それをどの切り口から見るか、その差でしかないんだなと。

──そのひとつというのは？

“今”ということ。先のことも過去のことも歌っていることはあるけれど、やっぱり根底には“今”というのがある。今をどう生きていくかという。今悩んでいるなら悩んでいることを歌いたいし、今幸せなら幸せだという気持ちを歌いたい。今、この瞬間だけ。

──「絵空事」でも歌っていますね。

はい。《今ここにあるものがすべてだ》って。
