Zeke Deux、支えてくれる大切なLux(仲間)たちへ向けた思いを記した2nd Mini Album『Lux en Athena』を2/22発売

11月に行った一周年単独公演のときにも、彼らは、満員の観客たちへ「2023年は、今年以上に精力的に活動を続ける。すでに新作を作っているからな」と口にしていた。その言葉を示すように、Zeke Deuxは2023年2月22日に2nd Mini Album『Lux en Athena』を発売することを発表した。

タイトルに記したLux(ルクス)とは、Zeke Deuxのファンの名称。Athenaとは、ギリシャ神話で、技術・学芸や戦いなどをつかさどる女神のことを指している。本作には、『Lux en Athena』と題した楽曲も収録。この歌には、「自分を信じてくれる愛しい人がいつも側にいてくれるから、どんな絶望を覚えようと、何があっても前に進み続けられる」という、絶望にうちひしがれた一人の男が立ち上がる強い意志を示すまでの物語が記されている。それは、この曲を手がけたKakeru自身が、バンド活動を通して感じ続けてきた思い。何度も打ちのめされ、何度も苦汁をなめようと、何度も立ち上がり挑み続けてこれたのは、何時の時代にも自分を支えてくれるファンたちがいたからだ。
Zeke Deuxと形を変えて以降、その仲間たちが確実に増え続けている。確かに今も、すべてが順風満帆ではない。それでも、信じた夢をつかもうと掲げた手に、時を重ねるごと、寄り添えてゆく手の数は確かに増え続けている。だからこそKakeruは、支えてくれる一人一人へ感謝の思いを述べ、共に戦い続けようと呼びかけてきた。

2nd Mini Albumの『Lux en Athena』には、今の自分たちの気持ちを詰め込んだ新曲たちを筆頭に、9月より会場/通販限定で3連続リリースした『Catastrophe』『Catharsis』『Lucifer』と、今や入手不可能または残り僅かな3枚のシングル盤の表題曲も収録している。発売する作品すべてがSold Outしてゆくバンドのように、入手できる機会は逃さずにいてもらいたい。

今回の2nd Mini Album『Lux en Athena』は、1月に東名阪を舞台に行う無料ワンマンツアー「Zeke Deux ミニアルバム発売記念 Free ONE MAN TOUR」の会場で先行発売になる。またも通常の発売日を前にして完売してしまうのか。2月22日に発売する作品が、いきなり2ndプレスになるのか…。それがどういう形になろうと、全国各地でZeke Deuxの音源を心待ちにしている人たちに、音の手紙はしっかり届けてくれるはずだ。
