D.W.ニコルズ、盟友ザ・チャレンジとダブルリリースパーティー開催 2014年6月5日 17:00

　前作『SUNRISE』より約7か月振りのミニアルバム『スマイル』を6月4日にリリースしたD.W.ニコルズ。そして同日にミニアルバム『みんなのチャレンジ』をリリースしたザ・チャレンジが、両バンドのCDの発売を記念した『ザ・チャレンジ×D.W.ニコルズ　ダブルリリースパーティー』を渋谷O-WESTで開催した。

　先行はD.W.ニコルズ。「City boy! City girl!」「マウンテンハンドライン」といったニコルズならではのオーディエンスと一緒に盛り上がれる楽曲から、彼らの新たな代表曲と成長した「ありがとう」、そして、ニューアルバムから、現在、テレビ東京「ゴッドタン」エンディングテーマとしてオンエア中の「スマイル」、そして「あまのじゃく」など全10曲を披露。会場はニコルズが奏でる楽しく暖かいサウンド、そしてときに優しく、ときに力強い、わたなべだいすけの歌声に、会場全体がハッピーなムードに包まれた。

　盟友ザ・チャレンジとは音楽性、ビジュアルこそ違えど、音楽を通じたの仲間の2バンドの競演。共通項はまさに“スマイル”。このあとニコルズは6月12日名古屋　今池TOKUZOを皮切りに全国7カ所の全国ツアー『スマイル大作戦！』が開催される。笑顔になれること間違いないライヴ、是非、期待してほしい。
