黒夢が新宿LOFTを占拠！ 17年を経ての伝説再現にファン熱狂！

9月17日、黒夢が東京・新宿LOFTを占拠した。彼らがこの場所でライヴを行なったのは昨年1月13日、同会場で一週間に亘って行なわれたイベント『Rock is Culture 2013』の千秋楽を飾った夜以来のこと。

言うまでもなく今回の公演は、黒夢にとってのラスト・ロング・ツアーになるものと公言されている「TOUR 2014 BEFORE THE NEXT SLEEP VOL.1『夢は鞭』」の一環として行なわれるLOFT二夜公演の第一夜にあたるもの。だが、公演前日になって黒夢のオフィシャル・ツイッター・アカウント上で示唆されたのは、この第一夜に限っては“Replay（再演）”がテーマであるという事実だった。

黒夢と新宿LOFT。ふたつのキーワードからすべてのファンが連想するのは“1997年10月31日”という日付けだろう。かつてこのライヴハウスが同じ新宿の違う場所にあった時代、そこで行なわれた黒夢の公演の模様は『1997 10.31 LIVE AT 新宿LOFT』としてライヴ・アルバム及び映像作品化されており、今年に入ってBlu-ray化も実現に至っている。1997年10月といえば、アルバムでいえば『Drug TReatment』が発売された年。つまり、のちの彼らのライヴの基軸となる『CORKSCREW』が生まれる前年にあたる。そして彼らは、まさに伝説化している同公演から約17年を経た2014年9月17日の夜、その伝説を塗り替えたのだった。

開演予定の18時半をわずかに過ぎた頃、超満員のフロアに響き渡ったのはMISFITSの「LAST CARESS」。METALLICAがカヴァーしていることでもお馴染みのこの曲をオープニングSEに据えるというのも、もちろん“再演”の一部である。そんなクールな趣向に歓喜するオーディエンスの絶叫を断ち切るように始まったのは「FAKE STAR」。オープニングにこの曲が炸裂すること自体は今回のツアーにおいても少しもめずらしくないことだが、この夜に限っては意味が、聴こえ方が違うように感じられた。

以降、彼らは1997年10月31日の夜と同じ楽曲群を、まったく同じ曲順で披露した。しかし、それだけではない。“再演”だけでは今現在の黒夢のライヴの基準に質量的に及ばないことを自覚している彼らは、アンコール時、当時のセットリストとは無関係にアコースティック演奏による3曲を含む計7曲を挟み込み、この夜の演目をさらにスペシャルなものにしていた。とはいえもちろん、それら7曲についても無意味に選ばれたものではない。清春の「アンコールは自由にやろうと思ってます。でも、97年までのやつを選んできました」という言葉もそれを裏付けていた。

こうして、きわめて競争率の高い争奪戦を勝ち抜いてプラチナ・チケットを手に入れた幸運なオーディエンスは、期せずして“『CORKSCREW』誕生前”の黒夢を追体験することになったわけだが、この“再演”がいわゆるノスタルジックな空気とは無縁のものだったことも付け加えておきたい。確かにセットリスト自体は、1997年当時の黒夢そのものだった。しかしステージ上にいるのは、間違いなく2014年の黒夢だった。ステージを去る間際、清春は「Thank you 1997, Good-bye 1997…We’re living in 2014!!」という言葉を吐いていた。過去を再現するのではなく、過去をいつくしみ、今を謳歌すること。この夜の黒夢が実践してみせたのは、まさにそれだった。

同夜の演奏内容や、ステージ上での清春と人時の発言内容については、現時点ではこれ以上詳しくは触れずにおきたい。が、ひとつだけ報告しておきたいのは、この夜の特別な演目について彼らが決めたのは、9月6日の名古屋公演終了以降だったということ。つまり前々から計画されていたことでもなければ、入念な準備が行なわれてきたわけでもない。そして清春自身、「これからもどんどん無告知でいろんなことをツアー中、始めていく」と客席に告げていた。

同じ夜が繰り返されることのない黒夢のツアー。すべての場面を目撃することはほぼ不可能に近いが、できるだけ多くの“二度と訪れることのない瞬間”を彼らと共有したいものである。
