UVERworld、ファンと紡ぐ「言葉」で繋いだ新曲MV公開

5月27日に27枚目となるシングル「僕の言葉ではない これは僕達の言葉」をリリースしたUVERworldが、200名のファンと共に製作した同曲のミュージックビデオをYouTubeで公開した。

この作品は6月5日から6日にかけて放送された、ニコ生「UVER家のTV」で初公開され話題になったもので、参加した200名が全員で歌っているように見える仕上がりになっている。実はこの作品に参加した200名は撮影時はいっさい曲を歌うことはなく、曲のタイトル「僕の言葉ではない これは僕達の言葉」と、それぞれが好きな言葉をカメラの前で発しただけで、その口の形を1コマずつ編集でつないだということだ。

本作の監督を担当し、UVERworldのミュージックビデオの代表的な作品を監督することでも知られる大喜多氏の話では「10周年を前にこういう曲ができたかと思った。タイトルの意味合いを表現したかった。みんなで歌うということ、そして参加してくれる全員をエキストラではなく、“個"として扱う映像を作りたかった。日本語は子音と5つの“母音"と“ん"で成り立っていて、ほとんどの言葉は口の形がその母音の形になる。その母音を映像で形として撮影できれば、それをつなぎ合わせて歌っているように作ることができると思ったのでこのような仕上がりになった」とのこと。

UVERworldは、今年結成15周年、デビュー10周年を迎え、先日年末までの周年ツアースケジュールを発表したばかり。これからの動きにも要注目だ。
