スカパラ、初の両A面シングル「爆音ラヴソング / めくったオレンジ」を7月に発売

今年3月に25周年ベストアルバム『The Last』を発売し、さらに同月には4時間にもわたる“伝説"の日本武道館公演を経て、26年目ではなくあらたに1年目として活動をはじめたスカパラが、1年ぶりとなるニューシングルを7月29日にリリースすることが決定した。

その内容は、スカパラ史上初となる両A面シングル。タイトルは「爆音ラヴソング / めくったオレンジ」という。これまでとは違った新しさと、これまでを彷彿とさせる意味深なタイトルに加え、ジャケットは、絵本を中心にイラストレーターとして人気の100%ORANGEによる描き下ろしのイラストジャケット。スカパラは描かれておらず、オレンジ色の男の子のみが描かれている。まだこの段階ではこの情報しかなく、謎に包まれている状態だ。

初回生産限定盤では、シングルCDに加え、最新のライヴ音源を収録したLIVE CD、特殊仕様紙ジャケット＆特製ブックレット付き。さらに、なんと購入者限定ライヴ応募券付という豪華な内容。

7月15日にはさらに詳しい情報が解禁されるというので、続報に期待しよう。

今年7月からは恒例のヨーロッパツアー、そして今回のシングル発売直後には自身が主催するフェス『トーキョースカジャンボリーvol.5』も敢行するなど、相も変わらず怒涛のライヴ活動を続けるスカパラだが、10月3日から全国ホールツアーも決定した。

音源、ライヴと、さらに今後の動向に注目したい。
