史上最狂のロックフェス『LUNATIC FEST.』、初日から大熱狂！

LUNA SEAが主宰する史上最狂のロックフェス『LUNATIC FEST.』の初日が6月27日、幕張メッセにて開催された。

大きな期待に胸を震わせる会場から地響きのような大歓声が沸き上がる中、まずはオープニングアクト“LUNACY”が登場。結成当時のバンド名をあえて名乗り、初期衝動が詰まった楽曲たちをインディーズ時代さながらに披露したその姿は、まさに最狂の宴にふさわしい幕開けとなった。

初日に出演したのは、9mm Parabellum Bullet、the telephones、TOKYO YANKEES、coldrain、LADIES ROOM、SIAM SHADE、Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas、DIR EN GREY、DEAD END、X JAPAN、そしてLUNA SEAの全12組（出演順）。SUGIZOいわく「同じDNAを共有する」最強かつ最狂のメンバーが集結した。

巨大な1フロアにセットされた「MOON」「SHINE」「FATE」と名付けられた3つのステージで、次々と強烈な個性がぶつかり合い、しのぎを削る出演者たち。そんな中、出演バンドのステージにLUNA SEAのメンバーそれぞれが飛び入り参加する場面が幾度もあり、そんなサプライズも重なって、会場は世代もジャンルも超えた興奮と熱で加速するように一体となっていった。今日ここに集結したバンドだけではなく、集まったオーディエンスまでもが同じDNAを引き継いでいる同志達なんだと実感させられる。それこそが“LUNATIC FEST.”ならではの醍醐味なのだ。そして、SUGIZOもメンバーとして参加するX JAPANのステージでは、彼らのニューアルバムに収録予定の新曲のメロディを会場全員で大合唱、その歌声を急遽録音するというサプライズまで起こった。

この日、最後にあらためて“LUNA SEA”が登場すると、RYUICHIが「X JAPANとかLADIES ROOMとかTOKYO YANKEESとか、たくさんの先輩たちが駆けつけてくれて、そして仲間たちや若いバンドたちも出てくれて、まるでロックの地層みたいな、この何十年の歴史をここで一気に感じてもらえるような１日になりました」と初日を振り返って語り、さらに中盤では「本当は一緒にこのステージに立ちたかった」と、hide with Spread Beaverの「ピンクスパイダー」をカバー。スクリーンに大きく映し出されたhideの姿と、その演奏に込めたLUNA SEAメンバーの熱い想いに思わず涙する人も見受けられた。その他本編では「TONIGHT」「I for You」「STORM」「ROSIER」など代表曲を含む全12曲を披露し、会場の熱気は最高潮へと上り詰めた。

アンコールで再び登場したLUNA SEAは、X JAPANをはじめとする今日の出演者たちを次々にステージへと呼び込み、最後にYOSHIKIがhideの象徴ともいえるイエローハートのギターをかけ登場すると、「今日は本物のhideも連れてきました」と心からの笑顔を見せた。そして全員でLUNA SEAの「PRECIOUS…」を大セッション。お祭り騒ぎのステージ上では、最狂かつ最高の笑顔が満ち溢れ、このフェスだからこその瞬間が会場を包んでいった。

そして、この日を彩った最狂のラインナップ陣がステージを後にすると、ラストは5人で「WISH」を会場に集まった同志たちと大合唱。熱狂と愛に満ちた初日のステージを締めくくった。

いよいよ最終日を迎える『LUNATIC FEST.』。25周年の集大成には、果たしてどんな結末が待ち受けているのだろうか。LUNA SEAにしかなし得ない答えは、もうすぐそこに迫っている。
