LUI FRONTiC 赤羽JAPAN、新たな決意を胸にワンマンライブを開催

プールイ率いるLUI FRONTiC 赤羽JAPAN（以下、ルイフロ）が、10月2日（金）に東京・恵比寿LIQUIDROOMでワンマンライブ『WALK THIS WAY ～武道館なんてバカだって言われても歩いていくんだ～』を行なった。

本来であれば、ルイフロは全国ツアーの真っ最中のはずだったが、現時点では力不足ということで止むなくツアーは中止となってしまった。その無念さを吹き飛ばすように、ルイフロは全身全霊を込めて今回のワンマンライブに挑んだ。

ライブは、「感じたいよソバにいたいよ新しい風と切り裂く光を」「サイ子」とパワフルなナンバーでスタート。プールイは、力いっぱい伸びやかなボーカルで歌唱。テンペスト竹内はヘヴィなリフとテクニカルなフレーズを織り交ぜたギターを弾き、小原just begunはうねるようなベースをプレイ。サポートメンバーのイトゥーナオヤのドラムも実にパワフル。アカバネーゼ（ルイフロのファンの総称）もかなりの盛りあがりだ。

「Drizzle」で会場全体でタオル回しをしたあとは、もっとアツくなっていくためにメンバーそれぞれが観客とコール&レスポンス。哀愁感たっぷりの「パンケーキ」では、ゲストのMC WATAとMARIEが登場し、最後はプールイがMC WATAの顔面にケーキクラッシュをお見舞い。バンドは、ポップな「スターライト」、ソリッドな「I'm with you~シーソーゲーム~」など、様々なタイプの楽曲を続々と披露していく。

会場が暗転すると、プールイがルイフロのこれまでの歩みを、動物に例えた紙芝居で語っていく。結成からメジャーデビュー、その後の伸び悩みによる葛藤を、物語風でありながら赤裸々に告白。そして、挫折していたときにファンの声によって救われ、絶対に諦めないと改めて3人で誓ったことも語られた。今のルイフロの強く前向きな思いは、しっかりと観客の心に響き、エモーショナルな「瑠璃色の名前抱いて」が披露されると、会場の一体感はさらに増した。

「ハナレバナレ」からラストスパートをかけるルイフロ。ファンキーかつ疾走感溢れる「ワンダーループ」、力強さと爽快感に満ちた「リプミー」で会場のボルテージは最高潮となってライブ本編は終了。

アンコールでは、プールイがひとりでステージに登場。拙いながらも「WALK THIS WALK」を弾き語りし、観客から温かい拍手がわき起こった。

MCでは、プールイからまずハッピーなお知らせとして、ルイフロのファーストフルアルバムが来年1月にリリースされることが発表された。続けて、彼女は現在の思いを涙声で語っていった。

「私たちは今日のために走り続けてきました。途中でツアーの中止が決まって、悔しい思いもありました。それも私たちの力不足のせいです。だけど、絶対にツアーに行けるようになるので、それまで待っててください。今日のライブも成功とは言えないけど、こんなにみなさん来てくれてうれしいです。ここから這いつくばってがんばっていきます。挫折から這い上がるのがプールイ。ルイフロもそうです。みなさん、これからも私たちについてきてください！」

プールイの力強い声に、アカバネーゼは大きな拍手と歓声で応えた。

ラストは、ルイフロの決意を込めた「WALK THIS WALK」をバンド編成で披露。感情たっぷりな歌とサウンドに会場全体が一体となり大ヒートアップ。プールイの一本締めでライブは幕を閉じた。

ソールドアウトには届かなかったものの、ルイフロとアカバネーゼの強い絆はさらに強固なものとなったのは間違いない。ツアー中止の悔しさをバネに挫折から這い上がるルイフロの熱い決意が伝わる、そして夢に向かって突き進むルイフロの、新たな物語の一歩目となるワンマンライブだった。
