WEAVER、全国ホールツアー初日公演にて約3年ぶりのアルバムリリースを発表

WEAVERが2016年2月に約3年ぶりとなるオリジナル・フルアルバムをリリースすることが明らかになった。

これは、10月24日に開催されたWEAVERの全国ホールツアー「WEAVER HALL TOUR 2015 Still Boys & Girls ～Sing Like Dancing In Our Hall～」初日となる大阪・オリックス劇場公演で発表されたもの。この公演を皮切りに、全国ホールツアーをスタートさせたWEAVERだが、今年の夏は各地で数多くのフェスやイベントに出演しバンドの基礎体力をアップ、メンタル面も強化させてきただけあって、表現力がよりいっそう豊かになり、伸びやかで堂々としたパフォーマンスを展開。ステージには杉本雄治（Vo/Pf）、奥野翔太（Ba/Cho）、河邉徹（Dr/Cho）のメンバー3 人が横一列に並び、今までの彼らのライブでは見たことのないスケールの光景が拡がる。曲調に合わせて繊細かつダイナミックに、時にエキセントリックに変化していく絶妙のライティングが曲の世界を立体的に彩っていく。

ツアータイトルにも掲げられているニューシングル「Boys & Girls」では、「今の自分たちなりのライブの楽しさを伝えたいと思って作った曲」（杉本）の言葉通り、オーディエンスは手拍子とジャンプと笑顔で応戦する。このほかにも、異彩を放つ未発表曲や、バンドの新たな代表曲にもなった「くちづけDiamond」など、バラエティに富んだ楽曲が並び、改めてバンドの引き出しの多さに感心。アンコールでは来年2月10日（予定）に約3年ぶりとなるアルバムのリリースを発表。ツアーの幕開けにふさわしい、華々しく晴れやかな一夜となった。

驚異的な指さばきで鍵盤を叩き、優しく切なく時に情熱的な歌声を響かせる杉本。ステージ狭しと動きまわりながら揺るぎないグルーヴを奏でる奥野。華奢なルックスからは想像できない力強さと歯切れの良いドラミングでバンドサウンドを支える河邉。プレイヤーとして格段にスケールアップした3人の姿はもちろん、アルバムの内容や2016年に彼らが目指すところも垣間見られる重要なツアーとなっているので必見だ。なお、ツアーは全国10カ所で展開。ファイナルは11月28日に東京・NHKホールで開催される。

WEAVERにとってオリジナルアルバムのリリースは2013年に発表した「Handmade」以来約3年ぶり。その間、半年間のロンドン留学や、ライブハウスツアー、ホールツアー、海外公演等、着々名実ともにスケールアップした現在のWEAVERが凝縮された作品となる。今年リリースされたシングル「くちづけDiamond」（TVアニメ「山田くんと7人の魔女」オープニングテーマ）、「Boys & Girls」も収録予定。そのほか詳細は追って発表される。10月26日よりアルバム予約もスタートしており、今ホールツアーの会場予約限定特典としてオリジナルクリアファイルがその場でもらえるようなので、ツアーに参加する人は是非チェックしてみよう。
