WEAVER、約2年ぶりとなる全国ホールツアーがついにスタート

WEAVERが約2年ぶりとなる全国ツアー『WEAVER 11th TOUR 2016「Draw a Night Rainbow」』を、4月9日（土）に大阪・オリックス劇場公演よりスタートさせた。

約3年ぶりのオリジナルアルバム『Night Rainbow』を引っ提げ、ついに幕を開けた全国ツアー。メンバーが登場するや否や、会場は大歓声に包まれる。ピアノ＆ヴォーカルの杉本雄治は「会いたかったよ、大阪!!」と嬉々とした表情で飛び跳ねる様にステージ上を駆け回り、はじけ飛ぶサウンドで「くちづけDiamond」などアルバム収録曲を次々と奏でていく。会場全体に手拍子の渦が巻き起こり、それに応えるかのようにメンバーの演奏も徐々に昂っていく。

ニューアルバムではピアノロックバンドならではのWEAVERらしい楽曲の他にも、四つ打ちのリズムに軽快なピアノ、シンセサウンドでつむぐカラフルなサウンドが印象的な楽曲も多く、3人の織り成すグルーヴが気持ちいい。中でも新機軸の代表曲とも言える「KOKO」では、サウンドと絶妙に絡んだライティングで会場のボルテージも一気に上がり、アルバムが示す世界観が存分に示された演出に一気に引き込まれていく。

途中のMCではベースの奥野翔太が「緊張感がハンパない…」と、ツアー初日ならではの心情を吐露しつつも、「初日を地元大阪で迎えられるのはうれしい。」と喜びを語る場面も。ドラムスの河邉徹は「輝けるように頑張ります!!」と意気込みを語り、杉本は「ここにいるみんなでしか創れない、最高の虹を描きたい!!」と、さらにこのツアーにかけるメンバーの想いを強く述べた。

セットリストにはアルバム収録曲だけでなく、WEAVERの真骨頂といえる優しさあふれるメロディに力強い意志を込めた既存の代表曲なども含まれており、その飽きさせない演出に観客の興奮はいっそう勢いを増していた。今回のツアーは、間違いなく次のフェーズに進んだWEAVERを確認できるものといえるだろう。

奥野が「これは、僕らとみんなでアルバムを完成させよう、というツアー」と最高のアルバムができた喜びと感謝の気持ちを伝え、さらにアルバムは進化していくという想いを語ると、杉本が「これからも3人でしか生まれることのない音楽を、みんなにしっかりとぶつけていきます！」と熱い決意を胸に、初日を締めくくった。

ツアーは全国9カ所で展開。ファイナルは5月6日（金）に東京・NHKホールで開催され、そこまで一気に駆け抜けていく。チケットは今回も争奪戦必至となっているが、アルバム『Night Rainbow』を聴き込んで、ツアー会場でぜひ今のWEAVERを体感してほしい。

また併せてうれしいニュースも届いた。2月11日に開催されたプラネタリウムイベント『Rainbow Lounge』での「KOKO」のライブシーンがWEBで公開されたのだ。これは映像を再生中に上下左右前後全て見渡せる体験ができる「360度動画」で、全方位好きな視点から対象を視聴することができる、まさにプレミアムなライブ動画となっている。ツアー会場にどうしても行けない方は、この動画でライブの感覚を味わうのも一興だ。自由な視点から“奇跡の虹"を目撃しよう！
