RADWIMPS、初の対バンツアーが米津玄師を迎え開幕

RADWIMPSの初の対バンツアー『10th ANNIVERSARY LIVE TOUR RADWIMPSの胎盤』が11月04日（水）、米津玄師を迎えZepp Tokyoにて開幕した。

RADWIMPSと米津玄師は、同じ言葉を持っている。息を吸い込むように時代の空気を体内に宿し、音楽とリスナーに対して誠実に、作品を紡いで吐き出す。学校のクラスの中では決して多くない人数の、音楽が好きで好きで仕方がない少年少女に向けて、手をつなごうとまっすぐに手を伸ばしている… RADWIMPSのタオルを首に巻いたファンが、米津玄師の曲に熱狂しているのを観て、そんなことを思った。

「どうも初めまして、米津玄師です！」と始まったライブは、どの曲もイントロが流れるたびに、大歓声が起きる。全然、初めましてじゃない。大好きなふたつのアーティストを同じ会場で観られる喜びに、会場が満ちあふれている。これ以上ないような、暖かく親密な空気に包まれている。

「RADWIMPS、10周年おめでとうございます。高校生の頃からRADWIMPSを聴いていて、影響も受けていて、父親、偉大な父親みたいなものなんです。そこに呼んで頂けるなんて、嬉しいとか恐れ多いの前に、不思議だなと思いました。高校の時のヒーローと同じステージに立てるなんて。ホントに嬉しくて、ふわふわした気持ちで立っています」

全てのファンが嬉しそうに拍手を送っている。そうやって届けられたニューアルバム「Bremen」からの曲は、大合唱とともに会場に高らかに鳴り響いた。

転換後、RADWIMPSが登場。ステージ後ろには、ドラムセットが2台。
休養中のメンバー山口智史のサポートとして、刄田綴色、森瑞希の二人のドラマーが、あまりにも色彩豊かなリズムを縦横無尽に繰り出してくる。「米津君に心から感謝します。出てくれてありがとう。まだ帰ってないと思うよ」と会場をなごませ、10周年らしい新旧取り混ぜたセットリストが観客を沸かす。

野田が言う。 「実は、米津君とは今日初めて会ったんだ。会ったことないのに頼んで、会った事ないのに引き受けてくれた。彼の音楽に通じ合うものがあって、想像してた以上に想像したとおりの人だった。こんな人見知り同士が対バンやって、一瞬で距離が縮まった。音楽と、今日来てくれたみんなに感謝したいと思っています」

本編が終わり、アンコールでは米津が再登場。会場の床が揺れる。米津は当初辞退したらしいが、RADWIMPSのメンバーが連れ出してしまったようだ。ステージの上で簡単な打ち合わせをして、「有心論」が野田と米津の掛け合いボーカルで演奏された。観客はもちろん、出演者にとっても、特別な一夜となったに違いない。
