LUNA SEA、FC限定ライヴでさいたまスーパーアリーナ2DAYSなどをサプライズ発表

LUNA SEAが12月23日と24日、オフィシャルファンクラブ「SLAVE」限定のライヴ『SLAVE限定GIG 2015 The Holy Night –To The Next Dimension-』をZepp DiverCity(Tokyo)にて開催した。

クリスマスイヴである24日のアンコールでは、RYUICHIより来年2016年の12月23,24日にさいたまスーパーアリーナ公演の開催を発表するというプレゼントがあった。12月23日は初めて東京ドーム公演を行った日であり、1996年の横浜スタジアム公演では活動休止を宣言することになるなど、幾多の歴史を刻んできた特別な日でもあることから、メンバー、SLAVE共に思い入れの深い日となっている。12月24日は終幕から7年後に東京ドームで復活を遂げた日でもある。1年後、その大切な二日間に再びステージに帰る約束が告げられたことは、ファンにとっては何よりも大きな喜びだったに違いない。

「今日はみんなにたくさん話すことがあるんだ。それは俺がちょっとキレたお詫びとか、そう言うんじゃなくて（笑）。みんなに聞いて欲しいのは、もっと内容のあることなんだ。なんと、俺たちはニューアルバムを作ってます！　そして、12月23、24日ってやっぱり俺たちの日じゃない？　LUNA SEAは、12月23、24日はみんなの前に立たないとね！」（RYUICHI）

今回の公演はSLAVE会員サイト内で「聴きたい曲」をリクエストしていた。普段あまり演奏することのない曲たちを久し振りに聴きたいと予想を遥かに超えるリクエストが募られた。1位に選ばれた「FOREVER & EVER」、上位に入った「a VISION」「TWICE」「AURORA」という4曲を演奏し、超満員のSLAVEで溢れかえっていた会場がどよめいた。特に「AURORA」は1995年に行われたアルバム「MOTHER」のツアー以来、20年以上演奏されることがなかったにも関わらずSLAVEから大きな支持を受ける名曲である。

「To The Next Dimension」。LUNA SEAが次なる次元へとスタートを切る瞬間をSLAVE達と迎え、来年のさいたまスーパーアリーナ2DAYS公演が発表されたのと同時に、次なるアルバム制作もすでに開始されているという言葉も飛び出した。2015年はLUNATIC FEST.で日本のROCKシーンに一石を投じたLUNA SEAだが、2016年は果たしてどんな未来を見せてくれるのか。今後の動きにも要注目である。
