WEAVER、選ばれし160人だけが鑑賞！プラネタリウムでの限定ライブイベント開催

約3年ぶりのオリジナルアルバムをリリースしたばかりのWEAVERが、『ALBUM「Night Rainbow」リリース記念 プラネタリウムイベント「Rainbow Lounge」』を2月11日に開催した。これは特設サイトより応募し、見事当選した160名のみが参加できる限定イベントで、WEAVERのライヴとともにプラネタリウムを鑑賞できるロマンティックな一夜となった。


真っ青な照明が幻想的な空間を作り出すなか、杉本 雄治 （Piano & Vocal）、奥野 翔太 （Bass & Chorus）、河邉 徹 （Drum & Chorus）の3人はまず“Welcome!"を演奏。登場早々メンバーが腕を掲げると、観客も天へ腕を伸ばす。普段と異なる会場とはいえ、みんな思い思いに楽しんでいる様子だ。

「ようこそ『Rainbow Lounge』へ！どうもWEAVERです！」と挨拶した杉本だが、初めての場所での演奏ということもあり、緊張で歌詞を間違えてしまったと暴露。メンバーのツッコミを受けるなど微笑ましいやりとりを挟みつつ、「プレミアムな場所でみんなと最高の時間を過ごせることを嬉しく思います。ぜひ一緒に奇跡の瞬間を作っていけたらと思うので、楽しんでいってください！」と観客に伝えた。

杉本がピアノを奏でると同時に天井が星空に早変わりしたのは、ミディアムテンポにアレンジした“僕らの永遠"。続く「Beloved」では星座が一面に広がった。演奏に耳を傾けながらも喜びと驚きが混ざったような反応を示す観客を見て、ステージ上の3人も笑顔を浮かべている。星が好きだということもあり、プライベートでもプラネタリウムに行くことがあるという河邉は「いいですよね、この空間。そっち（客席）に座りたいですよ」と語り、杉本はカップルで来ている観客に触れながら「ライヴ中に、いちゃついている人がいても今日だけは見逃します（笑）」と付け加えていく。ここで、かつて一度だけカバーしたことがあるという「天体観測」（BUMP OF CHICKEN）を披露。この日ならではの選曲で観客を喜ばせた。

「最後の1曲、この曲をやって奇跡の瞬間を作れたらなと思います」とラストに演奏されたのは、アルバム『Night Rainbow』のリードトラック「KOKO」だ。この曲ではアルバムタイトルに因んで、様々な条件が重なったときにしか見ることができないという奇跡の虹「Night Rainbow」が出現。さらにビックバンが発生し、無数の流星群が降り注ぐ。見た者に幸福をもたらすという「Night Rainbow」の言い伝え通り、会場は多幸感に包まれたのだった。

ライヴ後のトークタイムでは、アルバム『Night Rainbow』について語った3人。杉本は「この3年間でのWEAVERの進化を形にできたアルバムだし、初めての方にも『WEAVERってこんなに面白いことやってるんだな』って思ってもらえる曲が揃ったと思います」とコメント。奥野は「ライヴでどう表現するかを考えて作ったアルバムなので、その一端を今日はお見せすることができたかと」と来るツアーへの意気込みも覗かせ、河邉は「自分たちにとっての「jupiter」（「天体観測」が収録されているBUMP OF CHICKENのアルバム）のように、みんなにいつまでも大事にしてもらえるようなアルバムになったと思います」と伝えた。
