Muddy Apes、ニューアルバム『Faraway So Close』の詳細を解禁

Muddy Apesの3年振りとなるニューアルバム『Faraway So Close』が完成し、アートワーク及び収録曲の情報が解禁となった。

LUNA SEAのINORAN、FEEDERのTAKA、8ottoのMAESON、そしてFEEDERなどビッグネームのサポート・ギタリストとして活躍するDEAN TIDEYという4人によって2012年に結成されたスーパーバンド・Muddy Apes。最新アルバムは2015年秋より構想が練られ2016年2月から制作をスタートした。アルバム・タイトル『Faraway So Close』の「遠くにいても一番近くにいる」が意味するように、バンドのレコーディングとしてオーソドックスな全員でスタジオに入りサウンドを構築していくスタイルではなく、敢えてメンバーがそれぞれの活動拠点（UK. US. 日本）で一曲づつ楽曲と向き合い緻密に音を重ねていくというスタイルで行なった。TAKAがUKで感じる楽曲のフィーリング、DEANがUSで感じる楽曲のグルーヴ、INORANが東京で閃くサウンド・アイデア、MAESONが大阪で生み出す楽曲のパッション。百戦錬磨の実力を備えた個々のスキルが目と目を合わせなくても生み出す事が出来る最高のバンドグルーヴがここにはある。

1曲目の「Comfy」から始まりラスト11曲目の「Motor Ego」まで一瞬で駆け抜けていくような、それでいて楽曲の個性が際立つ存在感。とかく議論されがちな邦楽か洋楽かなんて何も意味を持たない正にハイブリッドな存在“Muddy Apes”が凝縮されたアルバムだ。

そしてこのアルバムをさらにサウンド面で押し上げたのがMIXエンジニアのSteve Orchard（スティーヴ・オーチャード）。Paul McCartney、U2、Coldplay、STING.などを手掛け、自身もGrammy Winnerである世界的Bigネームである、そのSteveの手により世界標準のサウンドへと磨かれていったのである。
