"ニコ動の歌い手"として人気の夏代孝明。TVアニメ「フューチャーカード バディファイト トリプルディー」のオープニングテーマ『クロノグラフ』を含む1stシングルをリリース!!

現在、TVアニメ「フューチャーカード バディファイト トリプルディー」のオープニングテーマ『クロノグラフ』を歌っているのが、"ニコ動の歌い手"として高い支持を得ている夏代孝明。同楽曲を収録した1stシングル『クロノグラフ』を5月25日(水)に発売する。

「クロノグラフ」とは、時を刻む本針とは別にストップウォッチ機能を持った短針を備えた時計のこと。夏代は『クロノグラフ』という言葉へ、「夢へ向かい刻んでゆく針を自分の意志で止めてしまうのか、夢描き続ける限り動かし続けるのか」と問いかけてきた。その意志は、みずからへ言い聞かせる言葉であり、夢を追い続ける人たちへ向けた、彼自身からのメッセージ。もちろんその想いは、TVアニメ「フューチャーカード バディファイト トリプルディー」に登場するキャラクターたちの心情とも重ね合わせて描いている。

夏代孝明自身が、「夢を追い続ける中、幾度となく挫折を経験してきた」歌い手。彼自身「あきらめた夢」もあれば、その成功者の姿にまぶしさを覚え、目を逸らしたこともある。でも夏代は、「歌に対する情熱」だけは絶対に消すことなく、今も夢を追いかけ続けている。その過程の中で得たものが今回のTVアニメ「フューチャーカード バディファイト トリプルディー」の主題歌『クロノグラフ』を歌うことだった。 『クロノグラフ』の歌詞に込めた想いも重ねあわせたうえで、彼は、こんな言葉を投げかけてくれた。
「みずからの抗えない運命に従ってその時計を止めるのか、みずから何かをあきらめて、その時計を止めてしまうのか…。僕は「自分でやりたい」と思った夢を叶えるため、どんなに辛いことがあろうと刻み続ける秒針を止めることなく進み続けてきたし、今もそうしています。
　中には、みずから「やりたいこと」の秒針を止めてしまう人だっていると思います。僕は、どんなに心が折れそうになろうと、その針を止めずに進み続けたい。その想いを持ち続けているからこそ、僕はここ(プロのシンガーとして)に立っているし、まだまだ夢を追い求め続けていけるんだから」

1stシングル『クロノグラフ』のジャケットイラストを手がけたのが、夏代作品のジャケットを描き続けてきたイラストレーターの深町なかである。主人公が月をハンモックに星を手にしている絵にも、1stシングルと連動した秘密が隠されている。それは、夏代孝明がみずから作詞を担当、収録したオリジナル歌『クロノグラフ』『君のことずっと好きだった』『エレジー』3曲すべての歌詞に、「星」「夜空」という"隠しワード"が記されていること。
ここで種明かしをしたら隠している意味はなくなってしまうのだが、あえて答えを記すことで、それぞれの歌詞に込めた夏代孝明の人柄の出た温かな心模様を探っていただきたい。情熱さの中からさえ滲み出る、包み込むような優しい歌声同様、彼の綴った言葉の数々からも、夏代孝明という人物像を窺い知れるはずだ。
