BOOM BOOM SATELLITES、iTunesトップアルバムチャート1位を獲得＆川島道行出演MV公開

BOOM BOOM SATELLITESの最後の新譜となる「LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME」が6月22日にリリースされ、早々にiTunesトップアルバムチャート1位（6月22日 0時台時点）にランクインした。

さらに、同作の2曲目に収録され、川島道行が出演する「STARS AND CLOUDS」のMVがGYAOにてフル尺公開となった。壮大で美しいバラードとなっており、映像では川島道行の歌う姿が映し出されている。MV撮影時のスタジオで川島道行は「みんなに勇気を与えたいから」と言葉を残し、インタビューでは「BOOM BOOM SATELLITESは凄くかけがえのない、大切で、大きなものでした」とコメント。

また、この映像は2016年3月に撮影されたもので、監督は数々のCMやMVを手掛ける柿本ケンサク氏。ここ数年のBOOM BOOM SATELLITESのMVを一手に引き受けていた彼は、「見るというよりはその魂の存在を感じて貰いたい作品です」とコメントを寄せている。

発売を受け、中野雅之は「アルバム『LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME』が世に放たれました。この子は何時までも何処までも、あなたの側に優しく寄り添ってくれる健気で逞しい天使のような音楽です。今、僕は永遠の命を手に入れてしまったような気分です。気持ち良いです」と自身のTwitterでコメント。

BOOM BOOM SATELLITESを敬愛するアーティスト陣から最後を惜しむコメントが多く寄せられ反響が大きくなっているなか、川島道行自身が歌った最後の有志を是非その目で見てほしい。

BOOM BOOM SATELLITESというバンドのMVほど、ヒリヒリした仕事はない。このバンドが見ている景色は、唯一無二だ。
作品に対するこだわりの深さ、妥協のなさには、常に自分を試されているようで、メンバーに会う前には自分を奮い立たせないと、その場にいるだけで、うちのめされる。
今まで一度たりとも、何かつごうのいい理由をいいわけにしたり、仕方なく作業を終えることはなかった。バンドとしての最期のMVを納品したとき、これまでありがとうございました、とメンバーの2人に頭をさげられた。
何を言ってるんですか。もっと、イジメてくださいよ！って、もっともっと、一緒に、作品の高みを見せてくださいよ。って、心の中で叫んでた。現実は非情なもので、涙をこらえるのに必死だった。
この曲は社会が静まり返った静寂の中で、無限の宇宙から降りてきた祈りにも近い啓示を、中野さんが音に変え、川島さんが言葉に綴り、出来上がった作品だろうと思います。見るというよりはその魂の存在を感じて貰いたい作品です。
この作品に関われたことを心から光栄におもいます。今までありがとうございました。
