UVERworld、クリスマスライブにて事務所社長が新曲リリースを“フライング”発表!?

UVERworldが12月25日に日本武道館にてクリスマスライブを開催した。11月から行なわれているツアーの終盤にして、9年連続の日本武道館でのクリスマスライブはステージを360度取り囲む客席の最上段までびっしりと埋まり、ライブスタッフやカメラクルーまでがサンタの衣装に身を包み、真太郎（Dr）恒例ドラムソロでスペシャルな一夜の幕があがった。

今ツアーは「常に最新の自分たちで勝負したい」という彼等の信念の通り、音源化されていない新曲を豊富に含む楽曲で展開。TAKUYA∞（Vo）が『メリークリスマス！　今日は誰1人置いていかねーからな！　全員俺についてこい！』と意気込みを放つと2016年にリリースされたシングル「WE ARE GO」や、映画『新宿スワンII』の挿入歌として発表されている新曲「エミュー」が披露された。

その後、『名古屋が生んだヒップホップ界のカリスマがクルー（ファン）にクリスマスプレゼント渡したいって来てくれたんだよー!!』と叫ぶと、AK-69がサプライズで登場。「Forever Young」を熱いコラボレーションでパフォーマンスし、止まることなく「ALL ALONE」や「7日目の決意」など、情感あふれる歌声で歌い上げ、プレミアムなセットリストにファンは酔いしれた。

ライブ終盤には『過去最高の一体感、俺たちの過去を超えるのは次の曲だぞー！　腹の底からの声きかせてくれー！』とオーディエンスを煽ると「IMPACT」を披露。ラストの「在るべき形」を歌い上げると、『また来年もこうやって素敵なクリスマスすごせるといいな』と語り、クリスマスライブも終了…と思われたが、メンバーに促され所属事務所の社長がピンクの全身タイツ＆アフロヘアー姿でステージに登場。武道館に高々と宙づりにされ、恒例となっている"出し物"を披露し会場が失笑に包まれる中、これにていよいよお開きかと思われたが、ここで事務所社長の口から2017年2月1日にニューシングルをリリースする事を発表。ニューシングルにはライブでも披露された「一滴の影響」「エミュー」、そしてAK-69とのコラボ曲「Forever Young（AK-69 feat.UVERworld）」を収録。映画『新宿スワンII』のオリジナル・サウンドトラックも1月18日にリリースされることが発表となり、こちらには「エミュー（Short ver.）」での参加が決定している。

公式アナウンスされる前にフライング中の社長自らがフライング発表するというまさかのサプライズでクリスマスライブは幕を閉じた。
