Acid Black Cherryの10年――2007年を振り返る

2017年7月18日よりソロデビュー10周年に突入するAcid Black Cherryが記念すべき10周年に先駆け、「10th Anniversary Live History -BEST-」と銘打った初収録映像満載の、総収録時間7時間32分にも及ぶライヴ映像作品を3月22日（水）にリリースした。そこでAcid Black Cherryの10年を見てきた音楽ライターの武市尚子氏に、ABCの10年の歴史を1年ずつ振り返ってもらった（全10回予定）。

初回はABCがデビューした2007年に迫る。

【2007年】Acid Black Cherry 2007 FREE LIVE

　yasuがAcid Black Cherryとしてソロ活動を始めたのは2007年。ソロ活動をスタートさせる上で、yasuが選んだ始まりは、予想外のものだった。事前告知一切なし。全国15ヶ所のライヴハウスで、地元バンドの前座として出演するという、前代未聞のシークレットライヴツアー。「いきなりワンマンじゃなく、イベントで対バン相手が居る環境でやってみたかった」 そんな想いのもと、Acid Black Cherryは敢えて、過酷な道からのスタートを選んだのである。

　日本武道館や大阪城ホール、さいたまスーパーアリーナなどを即完させる実力を持ったバンドであるJanne Da Arcのボーカリスト・yasuのソロプロジェクトであれば、最初からホール規模でのライヴも可能だったに違いない。しかし。

　「ライヴ会場に行けば、ライヴに必要なものはなんでもたくさんのスタッフが揃えてくれてるっていう状態が当たり前になってきていたから、そういうのに慣れ過ぎてるんちゃうか？ って思ってた時期でもあって。せっかくソロで活動するなら、いい機会やから1からやりたいと思って、最初のライヴは、ほんまにまっさらな状態で、インディーズ時代に経験してきた環境でライヴしてみたいなって思って」

　yasuは、この言葉どおり、2007年の5月6日～6月10日という期間に、ライヴハウスの通常ブッキングの前座として、15本のライヴを敢行した。PAも照明も全て現地のライヴハウスの人に託し、メンバーと機材車を運転するマネージャーだけで全国をまわる。走行距離は5,000キロ。お客さんは現地の対バン相手のお客さんのみで、場所によってはゼロに近い、そんな状況だった。

　ただ、その状況の中でもyasuのパフォーマンスは、いつでも全力だった。お客さんがいようがいまいが、全く変わらない。yasuはyasuのスタイルのまま、シークレットツアーをやりきったのだ。

　このツアーの終了後、Acid Black Cherryの名前は正式に告知され、7月にデビューシングルを発表することが告げられた。

　その後に行われた新宿ステーションスクエアでのゲリラライヴには、実に5000人もの観客が集まり、2曲を演奏したところで警察からの指示を受け、ライヴの中止を余儀なくされた。

　「もちろん、結果を求めてないって言うたら嘘になるけど、それよりも、それよりも………なんやろね、ほんまにただガムシャラやったと思う。なんとか形にしなくちゃっていう気持ち1つだけやったと思うな。俺にはこれしか出来へんから」

　やるからには全力でその物事に向き合っていく。そんなyasuの姿は、このプロジェクトに関わるスタッフやサポートメンバーの心をも一つにした。

　Acid Black Cherryはこの時、一つのプロジェクトが本格始動するためのスタートラインに立ったような想いだったのではないだろうか。

　そして、そのシークレットツアーを終えたyasuの視線の先にあったもの。それが、2007年に行われたフリーライヴだった。「Acid Black Cherry 2007 FREE LIVE」は実質、Acid Black Cherryをファンにお披露目するという、いわば初めてのライヴである。

　このプロジェクトを始めるにあたり、yasuは何よりもファンのことを強く思ったという。

　そこで改めて感じた“ファンの人がいたから、僕は音楽をやれているんだ"という想い。その想いは、このライヴを入場料を設けずFREE LIVEというスタイルにしたところにも表れていた。

　また「Acid Black Cherry 2007 FREE LIVE」では、シークレットライヴツアーで演奏してきた曲の他に、yasuはもう1曲、大切な想いを乗せた曲を披露した。

　「君がいるから」ーーー。

　“君がいるから 僕がいるんだよ”と唄われるこの楽曲は、yasuがAcid Black Cherryを始動させるにあたって、最初に作った曲だという。

　ファン（＝君）がいるから、自分（＝僕）がいる。
　君が笑顔になるなら、僕は唄うよ。

　このツアーで唄った「君がいるから」には、ファンへの感謝の想いと、これから唄い続ける意志を込めていたように思えた。

　こうして第一歩を踏み出したAcid Black Cherry。大切な「君」に唄を届け続ける物語が、ここから始まったのである。
