モノブライト、11月からの全国ツアーをもって無期限の活動休止を発表

結成から11年目の2017年、モノブライトがワンマンライブ『Duosonic Tour～あなただけに聞こえるXX～』の最終公演となる、10月1日の新代田FEVERにてファンの前で無期限の活動休止をすることを発表した。

11月28日に東京・渋谷WWW Xを皮切りに全6ヵ所を周るツアー、モノブライトTOUR 2017『monobright × MONOBRIGHT × モノブライト 2007-2017』の開催が決定しているが、この11月からの全国ツアーをもって無期限の活動休止に入る。なお活動休止後はメンバーそれぞれの道に進むことに。

「モノブライト桃野です。この度、11年活動してきたモノブライトは、無期限活動休止をします。突然の発表になってしまい、大変申し訳ありません。理由は色々思う事があるのですが、結局のところ3人とも限界でした。この先、モノブライトで何かやろうというアイデアやユーモアが全く浮かばなくなりました。3人それぞれが、これからも音楽を続けていけるようにする為に、モノブライトを休まないといけないと思いました。モノブライトは長い休みに入ります。今まで応援して頂いたファンの皆様、スタッフ様、対バンしてくれたミュージシャンの方々、本当にありがとうございました。おやすみなさい。ではまた明日！」

「デビューから10年間、言えば皆さんと共に活動してきました。わがままな発表だと承知していますが、モノブライトというヘンテコな集合体とそのバンドで作る変えたくないし大切にしたい音楽を一番に考えたとき今必要なことが「皆に頭を下げて休憩！！」という結論に至りました。コメントで伝えることができるのは僅かなことだとは思います。なので、ライブハウスで待っています」

「いつもモノブライトを応援してくださってありがとうございます。この度、このようなご報告で驚かせてしまい申し訳ありません。2007年にデビューし丸10年、今年11年目を迎えた我々モノブライトですが、一旦このタイミングで走るのをお休みしようと思っています。まだまだこれからだ、もっともっと面白いことを、そう考えていながらも、モノブライトのさらなる進化、深化を図るためには力を溜める期間が必要なのでは、とメンバー間での見解が一致しました。活動休止は私たちのわがままであることは重々承知ですが、自分たちの音楽であるとか、自分たちが信じてきたことに嘘はつきたくない。そして、この先の未来をより楽しいモノにしたい、そういった気持ちによる結論と受け取っていただければ幸いです。ストレンジストロングな音楽を続けるために、モノブライトは少しお休みします。今までありがとう」
