「現代的シネマティックロックバンド」と名乗る雨ノ弱は現実(ノンフィクション) と非現実(フィクション)が混じり合うシアトリカルなバンド

「どんな生き方も当てはまらない キミには到底理解されない秘密という猛毒を持つボクら」。雨ノ弱の全作詞を担当する井上結夢は、シングル『未確認生物』を通し、そう言葉を投げつけた。
たとえ世の中を敵にまわす虚勢を張ろうと、人を拒絶するポーズを取ろうが、本当に人との繋がりを嫌う人は、この世には存在しない。「対、●●」という行動を取るのも、そこへ自分以外の誰かが存在しているからだ。むしろ、自分を投影する誰かがいるからこそ、人は「己自身の心」とも向きあえる。その後に、その人が取る行動が何であろうとも…。

雨ノ弱は、自分たちのことを「現代的シネマティックロックバンド」と呼んでいる。 メンバー曰く、「自分たちを括るジャンルが存在しないことと、結夢の描き出す物語がまるで映画のよう」というところから、その言葉が生まれている。

　とても観念的な世界観だ。いや、その言葉は間違いだ。雨ノ弱の楽曲のベースになっているのは、すべて「ノンフィクション」。生々しすぎる現実へ「フィクション」の要素を描き加えることで、「これは自分のこと」と受け止めやすいようにと、結夢は表現をオブラートに包み込んでゆく。
それはまるで、非現実世界にも関わらず、現実の自分の感情とシンクロするが故に物語の主人公と同化。"ぼく"や"わたし"となって夢中になれる映画のよう。それが、現実を元に描き出した雨ノ弱の音楽という物語の根幹を成している。たとえば…。

『未確認生物』には、観たくない現実から逃れ自分の殻に閉じこもった主人公が、「ボクと似た遺伝子のキミへ」と、じつは人との繋がりを求めている本心を描写している。
『毒林檎-BadApple-』には、腐った不純物の林檎(ボク)が、次第にまわりまで腐らせてゆく、現代社会の若者の生き様を投影してきた。
　『ファンシーポップ』には、集団の中にいながらも孤独を感じる"わたし"の心の慟哭がポップに映しだされている。
『CinDErella story』へは、現実世界から他界した一人の女性が、終わった世界を俯瞰しながら感じた想いを投影。
『ハロー・グレア』には、悲嘆に暮れ、瞼の潤んだ視線から観た世界を記しながらも、落ちるのではなく、悲しみを背負ったうえで幸せを探そうとしてゆく心模様を記してきた。
『籠の鳥』は、大切な人が目の前で自殺したときの記憶と、その衝撃から抜け出せない少女の心の葛藤が映し出されてゆく。
『cinema』には、恋人どうしの関係性のように綴りながら、繋がりたいけど繋がれない理由を持った故の心のもどかしさを投影している。
　
先に説明した楽曲は、6月12日に発売する1stアルバム『シネマコンプレックス』へ収録している曲たち。その7曲の目次となる、すべての曲のモチーフとなる想いを詰め込んだのが『優雨』であり、映画でいうオープニングとエンディングを成す、収録曲たちを巧みにコラージュしたのが『Prologue』と『Epilogue』になる。そんな8編の物語と2本の予告編を詰め込んだアルバム『シネマコンプレックス』が、ついに完成した。
加えて補足するなら、タイトルへ『シネマコンプレックス』と記したように、このアルバム自体が一つの施設の中、幾つもの異なる映画が上映するシネマコンプレックスのような作品であり、いくつものコンプレックス(神経症)な映画(楽曲)を詰め込んだ作品集という意味も持っている。

　世の中には音楽を、「気持ちを幸せへ導く誘発材」として導く、いわゆるパリピ的な楽しみ方として求める人がいる。かと思えば音楽を、「心病んでる気持ちへ寄り添い、同じ痛みを共有する」ことで、痛みや絶望感を肯定してゆく力(仲間?)に変えてゆく人もいる。
雨ノ弱が音楽を通して描き出す映画には、正直コメディーやアクション要素は欠けている。その変わり、心に訴えかけ、染み入る想いを求めている人には、とても刺激な愛聴作になるのではと思っている。
サウンド面でもトリッキーな展開が多く、多種多様な音を詰め込んでいるように、まるでパチパチ弾けるキャンディポップな表情でありながら、ストレンジでアナーキーかつエキセントリックな香りを満載。そんなシアトリカルなロック・スタイルをぜひとも味わっていただきたい。
