ハイパーバリトンギターを手に音楽シーンへ殴り込みをかけた男、佐倉仁とは…

ギターとベースを同時に演奏できるハイパーバリトンギターを開発。忍者ギタリストの異名のもと、同ギター唯一の奏者であり、ヴォーカリストとしても活動している佐倉仁。先日、DVD「Diablo～終わらない愛の歌～」を発売。同曲の楽曲配信もスタートした。
　音楽の道での大成を目指しながらも、その志を閉じ、別の道へ。異分野で成功を手にした彼は、心の奥底に封印していた野望の箱を紐解き、みずから開発したハイパーバリトンギターを手に、ふたたび音楽の舞台で勝負してゆくことを決意した。佐倉仁は、こう語る。

「自分は「音楽を生み出すために生まれてきた」という自負を持って活動をしてきましたが、28歳のとき、とあるきっかけから別の道へ進むことになりました。でも、自分の役割を終えないまま人生の幕を閉じるなんて絶対にしたくはなかった。ただし、「時を経てふたたび挑戦するからには、人がやっていないことを武器に勝負をしないと世界には出ていけないし、勝てない」と思い、そこでギターとベースを同時に演奏できるハイパーバリトンギターを制作。唯一無二の武器を手に、ふたたび音楽シーンへ舞い戻り、勝負のための活動を始めました」

DVD及び配信曲としてリリースした「Diablo～終わらない愛の歌～」に、佐倉仁はこんな想いを詰め込んでいる。

「僕は、一度音楽を辞め、ふたたび始めた背景があるように、「Diablo～終わらない愛の歌～」には「再生する」という意味を込めています。それこそ、「大事な人を守るためには悪魔にでもなる」と歌っているように、「置き忘れていたものを取り戻す戦いをしてゆく」僕自身の強い意志を汲んで歌詞にしてもらっています。きっと、同じような想いを抱いてる方はたくさんいると思います。その人たちの心を突き動かす歌にもなってくれたら嬉しいです」

「Diablo～終わらない愛の歌～」の制作陣が、とても豪華。楽曲を手がけたのが、尾崎豊のプロデューサーだった樫原伸彦。作詞を、柳ジョージや織田裕二、アサヒスーパードライCM等を手がけた池永康記が担当。演奏、撮影面でも、氷室京介のプロデューサーでもあるSilky Voiceこと井上純がドラムを叩けば、同じく、氷室京介のLAST GIGでギターを弾いていたYukihide YT Takiyamaが演奏。他にも、世界的に有名なビジュアリストの柳延人がメイクやヴィジュアル面を担当すれば、アートディレクションでは、HYやTM NETWORKなどのデザインを手がけてきたこうづなかばが参加。まさに、一流どころが佐倉仁の才能に惚れ込み、強力なバックアップを表明してきた。

現在、ハイパーバリトンギターを軸に「The Baritonist.」という「楽器販売及び楽器をベースとした文化の創造」を目的としたブランドを立ち上げれば、10月より定期イベントを行なう形を取りながら、「次世代のアーティスト発掘・育成ブランド」となる「NEXT GENERATION」もスタートした。他にも、経験豊富で実績のあるシンガーやアーティストの方々を迎えたスクールの開業も行なう計画を進めている。実績あるクリエーター陣による楽曲、音源、アー写、ジャケット、MVなどの制作から流通まですべてをサポート、自分たちが一つのメディアという形を取りながら、次世代の才能あふれるアーティストや音楽を発信しようとしている。その先駆けとして、まずは、みずからがアーティストとして活動の姿勢を示したというわけだ。最後に、佐倉仁の言葉をお伝えしよう。その言葉を踏まえ、これからの彼の活動を注目していただきたい。

「僕が今見ている視線は、国内よりも世界。佐倉仁としての活動を通し日本の音楽を。引いては、日本の音楽文化を海外の人たちへ積極的に発信していきたい。そのための戦いを、今始めたところです。これからも、僕自身の活動を追いかけ続けてもらえたらとても嬉しく思います。2020年も、いろんなアクションを示しますので」
