The Cheserasera、デビューミニアルバムのレコ発ライブを開催！

　6月4日にミニアルバム『WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD』をリリースしメジャー・デビューを果たしたThe Cheserasera が、6月19日に同ミニアルバムのレコ発イベントを下北沢SHELTERにて開催した。

　歌を大切にしながら壮大なサウンドを奏でるというテーマの下、The Cheseraseraが招いた2バンドは、ヤマハ主催のアマチュア・ミュージシャンのための音楽コンテスト『The 2nd Music Revolution』でグランプリ経験を持ち、かつて東京で対バンをして以来、交流の深い札幌のバンドThe coridrasと、昨年11月の下北沢CLUB251以来の共演になるGOING UNDER GROUNDという強力な組合せ。

　まずはThe coridrasがシャープなサウンドと躍動感あるグルーヴでフロアを温める。Vo.Gt.杉本健人の存在感が光る。今後、要チェックのバンドだ。続くGOING UNDER GROUNDは序盤から代表曲をガンガン繰り出すライブ。松本素生のセンチメンタルなメロディと歌詞に心をグイグイ掴まれる。終盤、松本が「バンドやってんの？俺もやってんだよねってだけで友達になれる。またどこかで一緒にやりたい」とMCし、先輩・後輩という関係を抜きにしてThe Cheseraseraにエールを送り、名曲“トワイライト"で締め括った。

　そしてお待ちかね、The Cheseraseraの3人がドリス・デイの“ケ・セラ・セラ"が流れるなかステージに登場。ライブは“彗星"からスタートし、続く“月と太陽の日々"で一気にヒートアップ！ミニアルバム『WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD』のリード曲だ。疾走感あるビートに乗せ、Vo.Gt.宍戸翼のロマンティシズムあふれる歌が放たれる。さらに“Drape"でたたみかける。〈そうだろー？〉のフレーズからサビへ、どこまでも突き抜けるメロディと歌声が最高に気持ちいい。その後も、バンド一丸となった激しいサウンドで制御不能な感情を歌う。宍戸は汗まみれの髪をふり乱し、西田のベースは上下に大きく動き、美代は勢い余って立ってドラムを叩くシーンを何度か目撃した。The Cheseraseraのライブがなぜ、こうもエモーショナルなのか？ ロマンティシズムとニヒリズムが拮抗する日常のリアリティを表現すればするほど感情は混乱し、コントロール不能になるからだ。さわやかなサウンドで夢や希望を歌うだけのバンドとはわけが違う。本編ラストの“でくの坊"では、どこか自嘲気味に、でも必死に歌う。そんな嘘のないバンドの感性は信頼できると改めて痛感した。

　アンコールで登場した3人が嬉しそうな表情でフロアを見つめる。宍戸がMCでGOING UNDER GROUNDとThe coridrasにリスペクトの気持ちを述べ、オーディエンスには〈ツアー・ファイナルの代官山UNITにツアーで成長した姿を観に来てくれたら〉と告げ、“さよなら光"を。さらに『WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD』から“SHORT HOPE"を放つ！新曲ながら、速攻ライブで盛り上がるキラー・チューンと化した。

　今後、10月まで続く全国ツアーで、どうかThe Cheseraseraのライブを目撃してほしい。きっと、タフな日常を生きるあなたの糧となる音楽がそこにあるから。
