LUNA SEA公認のシンフォニックカバーアルバム最新作がついにリリース

2010年REBOOT以降、活動を再開したLUNA SEAのシンフォニックカバーアルバム『SYMPHONIC LUNA SEA -REBOOT-』が本日11月26日に発売となった。

オーケストラアレンジと指揮はシングル「THE ONE –crash to create-」、アルバム『A WILL』でストリングスアレンジも担当し、メンバーから厚い信頼を得ている藤原いくろう氏、そしてオーケストラは日本トップクラスの東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団が起用されている。

今作には過去の『SYMPHONIC』シリーズには収録されていないアルバム『STYLE』以降の作品を中心に全8曲を収録。ドラマ主題化となりヒット曲となった「I for You」は各旋律が浮き上がる壮大なナンバーに、イントロのギターをバイオリンで表現しているのが印象的な「IN SILENCE」、映画主題歌にもなった「gravity」はその楽曲の美しさを最大限に引き出している。そしてREBOOT後の最新シングル「乱」はアルバム1曲目を飾るにふさわしいアグレッシブなアレンジに仕上がっている。またLUNA SEAの世界観を象徴する、ライブでもお馴染みのアルバム曲「RA-SE-N」や、25周年ツアーで重要な位置を占める「absorb」と「Grace」を最新アルバムから収録している。最後の8曲目に収録されている「LOVE SONG」は、終幕前のラストシングルとなり、ファンの中では過去と未来を繋ぐ楽曲として非常に大切な存在を示すが、小編成から大編成に変わるアレンジは歌詞の世界を表しているようだ。
　
また、「SYMPHONIC LUNA SEA　SPECIAL CONCERT　／2015　SPRING／COMING SOON」とだけ書かれた告知がCDに封入されており、来春にはこのCDのコンサートが行なわれるのではないかと期待が高まる。詳細は後日HPに発表される模様だ。

発売元の日本コロムビアの特設サイトでは、アレンジャーの藤原いくろうによるビデオコメントも届いているので、そちらも要チェック。
