つばき、4年ぶりのリリースツアーファイナル公演で結成15周年記念フェス開催を発表

つばきがボーカルの一色徳保の復帰後、初の全国ツアー『夜行性の三羽の夢と嘘』を行い、そのファイナルを渋谷クラブクアトロにて締めくくった。

このツアーは彼らが昨年9月に発表した4年ぶりのニューアルバム『真夜中の僕、フクロウと嘘』のリリースツアーとして行われたもの。11月12日の岡山・CRAZYMAMA KINGDOMを皮切りに全国9カ所にて行われ、東名阪の3カ所はワンマンとして行われた。

ニューアルバム収録の「夜を泳いで」をSEにメンバーが登場。そこに一色が歌を乗せていき、<バンドつばき>としてのプレイへとシフトされていく。「久しぶりの東京でのワンマンです。今日は新しいアルバムからドンドンやっていくから」との最初の一色の言葉通り、ニューアルバムから全曲が披露された、この日。

ベースの小川博永が生み出すドライヴ感と、おかもとなおこのドラミングによる開放感が会場中に広がった「星の瞬き」、サビの部分では会場中の大合唱が起こった「ないものねだり」。ダンサブルさと勢いを同居させながら突き進んでいった「フクロウ」といった、ニューアルバムからの楽曲の数々が会場に活力を与えていく。「本日、無事にツアーファイナルを迎えることが出来ました。最初はやれるのかな?との不安もあったけど、これもみなさんのおかげです」と一色。「始まりはいつだって」「そして、僕らは」と、その後、歌に込めたメッセージと共に情景も浮かんでくる楽曲が次々と披露される。

渋谷クアトロでのワンマンライヴは、実に6年ぶりだったという彼ら。それもあり、この日の中盤は、インディーズ時代の曲や3rdアルバムの曲も間に交えられ、つど昔からのファンを驚喜させた。

また、同じく中盤では鍵盤にカミナリグモの成瀬篤志を迎え、この日のサポートギタリストでもあった大迫章弘が作詞作曲を務めた「ころがるいしのように」、つばきの楽曲ながら、カミナリグモのアレンジであえて歌われた「バス停前」も登場。鍵盤も交わり、歌世界の情景がより明確に映し出されていく。

後半は再びニューアルバムからの曲が中心となった。ファンキーでグルーヴィーな要素の同居も耳を惹いた「肝心要」、ソネタクミ、大迫の2人のサポートギタリストによるギターカッティングも印象的だった「サンザン」、この日最大の盛り上がりを呼び込んだ「真夜中3時の商店街」（3rdアルバム収録）、そして、ソリッドでタイトな演奏の上、"君がいたからここまでこれたんだよ"との想いが曲に乗り、炸裂した「日々の扉」がラストに向け、会場を再び盛り上げていく。「4年ぶりのツアーは自分にとって、まさにご褒美だった。全国各地温かく迎えてくれて、それが非常に嬉しく、感動的でもあった」と一色がツアーを振り返る。本編は一色の入院前～中に書かれ、今でもその時の気持ちを忘れていないとの言葉の後、力強く歌われた「真夜中過ぎは」で締められた。

アンコールは彼らの代表曲や人気の高い曲が次々と飛び出した。おかもとが活動休止～復活への不安や絶望、そこからの希望や光を綴った感動的な手紙が自身により読み上げられ、「このツアーファイナルをつばきの新たなスタートにしたい」と締め、続く今やアンセム化している「太陽」が現れると会場中も合わせて大合唱。ステージ/会場が一つになり、共に感動的な場面を作り上げていく。ダブルアンコールでは、メジャーデビューシングルだった「明日の風」も飛び出し、そこで生まれた会場中の大呼応が、今後のつばきへの追い風のように頼もしく響いた。

今年15周年を迎える、つばき。6月6日には恵比寿リキッドルームにて、同世代や朋友アーティストを多数迎えた、彼らが永年思い描いていたイベント、「正夢になったフェス」を行うことも、この日は発表された。より説得力を持ち、実感を持った歌を沢山携え、完全復活を遂げた、つばき。そんな彼らの更なる躍進を今年も見守り続けていきたい。
