Superfly、ニューアルバム初回生産限定盤付属の邦楽カバーミニアルバムで竹内まりやとコラボ

Superflyが5月27日（水）に発表する5枚目のオリジナルアルバム『WHITE』の初回生産限定盤に付属される邦楽カバーミニアルバム。その2曲目に収録される竹内まりやの楽曲『Sweetest Music』に、なんと本人がボーカルとして参加！　実に豪華なコラボレーションが実現した。

5月27日（水）にリリースされるオリジナルアルバム『WHITE』。先日発表されたが、その初回生産限定盤には、桑田佳祐『Blue～こんな夜には踊れない』、竹内まりや『Sweetest Music』、井上陽水『帰れない二人』、RCサクセション『スローバラード』（※この音源は、2012年RISING SUN FESTIVALのライブテイク）、佐野元春『楽しい時-Fun Time』の5曲が収録される。

M-2に収録される竹内まりやの『Sweetest Music』に、竹内まりや本人がボーカルで参加している事が明らかになった。この楽曲をカバーするにあたって、Superfly志帆は、「竹内まりやさんの武道館ライブで初めてこの曲知りました。ライブ中に、あまりにもカッコよくて体中が熱くなったのを覚えています。いつかカバーさせて頂きたいと思っていました。」とコメント。まさに夢のコラボレーションとなった。

当日、志帆は緊張しながらも、終始和やかなムードでレコーディングは終了。今回の参加に関して志帆は「憧れの楽曲を、憧れの大先輩とデュエットさせていただき、本当に幸せなひと時でした。スタジオで、生の歌声を聞かせていただいた時、まりやさんのカッコよくも深みのある歌声に衝撃を受け、全身が震えました。まりやさんとのデュエットは、宝物です！素晴らしい機会を与えていただき、心から感謝しています。」と熱く語った。そして「こうやって30年前の楽曲を蘇らせてくれて嬉しい。」と、竹内まりやも語った。この豪華なコラボレーションを是非、聴いて頂きたい。

■アルバム『WHITE』
『i spy i spy』(2007年）以来のタッグとなる、2012年に解散したオーストラリア、メルボルンの世界的ロックバンドJETのメンバーChris Cester(クリスセスター）。アメリカ、サンディエゴのロック・バンド、 Louis XIV（ルイ・ザ・フォーティーンス）の中心メンバー、Jason Hill(ジェイソンヒル)。Katy Perryとの共作でBillboard No1も記録した、ヒットソングを多数手掛けるアメリカ、ロサンゼルスのソングライター、Bonnie McKee（ボニーマッキー）。元椿屋四重奏のメンバーで現在、ソロとして活躍している中田裕二。個性派ロックバンドHeavenstampのメインソングライターTomoya.S。日本が誇る女性シンガーソングライターBONNIE PINK。そして作詞には新進気鋭の詩人・菅原敏やSally#Cinnamonが参加するなど、異色のクリエイターが参加した作品となっている。
