UROBOROSがシークレットで初ライヴを敢行

黒瀬圭亮（ex.Asriel）、上木彩矢、大村孝佳（C4、LIV MOON、DCPRG,、Marty Friedman、BABYMETALほか）、中村泰造（cune）、笹渕啓史 （CQ、Creature Creature、ex.Plastic Tree）らさまざまなジャンルやシーンで活躍する凄腕ミュージシャンたちによって結成されたバンド、UROBOROS（ウロボロス）。9月9日に処女作となる1st EP『ANOTHER ARK』をリリースした彼らが、シークレットライヴ「DARK REDEMPTION」を都内某所で開催した。

この日招待されたのは、定員を大幅に超える応募が殺到した中から抽選で選ばれた幸運なファン100名。ジャンルやシーンを超えて注目を集めるUROBOROSの初ライヴという激レアな瞬間を見届けるべく、平日にもかかわらず全国各地からファンが集まった。

冒頭、『ANOTHER ARK』の幕開けを飾る「ARK」をSEに、マニピュレーターを務める黒瀬圭亮を含む楽器隊が登場。待ち焦がれ続けた「DARK REDEMPTION（＝黒き救済）」が幕を開け、オーディエンスの期待はいっそう高まる。

そのまま「Black Swallowtail」のイントロへと繋がってバンドの演奏が始まるとともに、ヴォーカルの上木彩矢が登場。ロックバンドとしての熱量と、各々のキャリアが磨き上げた技量を併せ持つ楽器隊の演奏。そこに聴く者すべてを貫くような、芯の通った上木の歌声が絡み合う。有無をも言わさぬ圧倒的な説得力に、初ライヴの1曲目ながら会場のボルテージは一気に最高潮へ。

その後も熱気と興奮は絶頂のままに、「IGИIS」「Red Moon」「十二夜」「Luminous」と一気に駆け抜け、ライヴは終演。時間にするとわずか30分足らず。アンコールを望む声もありながらも、そのバリエーション豊かな楽曲とあまりに濃密なパフォーマンスゆえに、オーディエンスにとって非常に満足度の高いライヴとなった。

ライヴ後には、音楽ライターやプロデューサーとして活躍する冨田明宏を迎えてのトークセッションも。全作曲を手がける黒瀬より、来年春に次作をリリースすべく鋭意制作中である旨が述べられた。また、メンバーにとっても今回の初ライヴは相当楽しかったらしく、今後も精力的に行なっていきたいとも。UROBOROSの次の展開に期待だ。
