flumpool、アルバム『EGG』ティザー映像は「スーパーマーケットからの解放」!?

flumpoolが3月16日にリリースするニューアルバム『EGG』のティザー映像を公開した。先日、初回限定盤に付属の特典DVDのティザー映像を公開したばかりで話題を呼んでいるが、今回はアルバム全体のティザー映像となる。

“スーパーマーケットからの解放"をテーマに作られた今回の映像。スーパーマーケットで販売されているウズラの卵の中には、まれに有精卵が混じっていて、それは、温め続けたら雛が生まれるということ。本当にそんなことがあるのか？　もしも、本当に産まれたら、普段何気なく見ている「卵」のイメージが少し変わるかもしれないと、実際にスーパーマーケットで買った卵を、17日もの間、カメラを回しっぱなしで撮影したものとなっている。本当に孵化するのか？　果たして、かわいい雛は誕生するのか？　その瞬間を体感してもらいたいと、今回クリエイティブ・ディレクションを担当した電通の佐藤雄介氏は語る。カンヌ広告賞やACC賞を獲得し、最近では日清カップヌードルのCMなども手掛ける、新進気鋭のクリエイティブは要注目だ。なお、今回映像に使用している楽曲は、アルバム『EGG』の1曲目を飾る「解放区」。新たなflumpoolを解き放つ、エッジーなサウンド感で示すロックナンバーとなっており、こちらにも注目だ。

今回のティザー映像は、孵化するまでを一連の映像に見せるために、タイムラプスで撮影しており、卵への没入感のある映像に仕上げられている。どの卵から生まれるか予想できないため、卵全体が見えつつ部屋の様子が分かる「カメラがひいたアングル」から撮影していて、そこから、ひとつの卵に寄り続けるときに、HD画質では、とても映像画質が足りないので、ズームしていく上で、4Kカメラを2つ組み合わせ、スイッチングしていくという新たな手法、「4K in 4K」技術と名付られた手法が用いられているという。なおこの手法は、今回の撮影のために、撮影クルーが悩みぬいた末、開発した手法とのこと。また今回、6時間ごとにその転卵（卵を90度回転すること）という作業を行ったり、常に部屋内の温度：37.5〜37.8℃、湿度：40%〜50%をキープし、卵の下に電気アンカを敷き、温度を調整するという、かなり繊細な環境で、卵を撮影することに向き合ってきたというから、そのこだわりには驚きだ。

このティザー映像へのこだわりからもわかるように、様々なこだわりや想いが込められた、まさしく、メンバー渾身の作品となっているのが、約3年半ぶりとなるオリジナルフルアルバム『EGG』だ。

3年半ぶりの、flumpoolのアルバムのタイトルが、なぜ「卵」なのか。目の前にある「卵」をみて、どう思うか？　何かが産まれてくる希望？　それとも「君ってこういう人間なんでしょ？」と周囲から決めつけられた窮屈な殻に閉じ込められた存在？　中には、殻を抜け出しても外の世界にはなんの希望もないのに…なんて感じる人もいるかもしれない。人それぞれ捉え方は違い、見た人、聴いた人の精神状態によって、どうにでもとってもらえるアルバムでありたい、という願いから、つけられたタイトルとなっている。

今回のティザー映像から感じ取られるのは、まさしく“希望"か？　いよいよアルバムリリースまで1カ月を切り、本格的に動き出したflumpool。CDをゲットして、その答えをきちんと確かめよう！
　
また、昨年の横浜アリーナでの単独カウントダウンライブで初披露され、話題を集めていたアルバムの最後を締める新曲「明日キミが泣かないように」が22日よりサブスクリプション音楽配信サービスKKBOX初のテレビCM「一緒に聴く」編TVCMソングとしてオンエアスタートしている。こちらも是非チェックしよう。
