THE EGOIST、3月26日に「重大発表」も含むエゴ剥き出しのワンマンライブを実施!!

THE EGOISTと言えば、今年1月に所属レーベル「ROCKSTAR RECORDS」主催ツアーを通し、初の地方公演を実施。「初のツアーはレーベルの仲間たちの力を借りる形で行なった」(Rouis)と語るよう、あくまでもバンドの顔見せが目的だった。

あれから1ヶ月と間を開けず、THE EGOISTは2月28日よりSHAPE SHIFTERとのカップリングツアーを実施する。今回は全4カ所とはいえ、地方の人たちには、長い時間THE EGOISTのライブを体感出来る嬉しい機会になるのは間違いない。メンバーも「SHAPE SHIFTERは先輩バンドだけど、ステージに上がってしまえば良きライバル。どのライブでも攻めたTHE EGOISTの姿を見せますから」(雄大)と、このツアーを地方の人たちへアピールする良い機会に捉えている。

3月26日(土)にHOLIDAY SHINJUKUを舞台に行なうワンマンライブ「THE EGOIST 新衣装初披露単独公演(Illuminati)」はTHE EGOISTの宣戦布告を眼前に示す場なる。この日披露する新衣装が提示する意味も含め、彼らが何を宣言するのかを直接確かめて欲しい。

この日は、昨年12月6日に行なったワンマンライブ同様、二部構成で行なわれる。ただし、第一部は「男子限定」公演。しかも、この回のみ入場無料でLIVE DVDのプレゼントも用意。「前回のときもファンの子が友達や知り合いの男性を送り込んでいたように、そこはお任せします」(Rouis)とメンバーは語っていたが、女性ファンで、どうしてもこのLIVE DVDを手に入れたい方は、ご自身で戦略を練っていただきたい。

この日の公演では、THE EGOISTのこれからへと繋がるための幾つかの戦略が告知になる。先にこの日が「宣戦布告」と語ったように、ここからTHE EGOISTと一緒に歩んでも遅くはない。むしろ、ともに躍進のロードに参加し共に走ってみてはいかがだろうか?!

「THE EGOISTはシーケンスを一切使わない完全生演奏主義のバンド。だからと言って、ただ無骨なロックバンドをやっているわけではない。僕のギターでいえば、シンセサイザーのような音などいろんなエフェクト音もギターで表現している。それは、ヴォーカルにエフェクトを噛ますことも同じ。ただ、どれも事前に仕込むのではなく、その場で対応してしているように、エフェクト効果をスイッチングするときもあればしないときだってある。そういう「その時の感情に合わせた音作り」で臨機応変にライブ対応していくのもTHE EGOISTの魅力としてあること。そこもぜひ、THE EGOISTのライブを楽しむうえで注目して欲しいなと思っています」(セツナ)
