死地から生還した未散へのエールと結成15周年を祝う「生還祭」を3月3日に行うMASK。MASKメンバーのtwitterもスタート!!

2006年5月1日、Zepp Tokyoのライブの場を持ってメンバー全員がバンドを卒業(解散)。その10年後となった2016年5月1日、Zepp Tokyoを舞台に第一期/第二期MASKとして復活。その後、年に一度集まる機会を作っては、活動を続けてきたMASK。今年は結成から数えて15年目に当たる年から、本当なら派手に祝いの場(ライブ)を設けようと思っていたのだが、先にNEWSとしても流れたようにリーダーの未散が死地を彷徨う病気を患い、MASKの存続どころか、未散自身の命さえ途絶えるかも知れぬ状況へ陥っていた。
美しい花咲き誇る岸辺の先へ渡ろうとしていた未散を引き止め、連れ戻したのがMASKのメンバーだったことは、後に未散自身が退院後に語ってくれた。今は無事に社会復帰しプロデュース業へ勤しんでいる未散だが、一度身体を蝕んだ病魔は、いまだ彼の体力を完全に回復させるまでには至っていない。だからこそ未散は、この身が自由である限り、みずからを今へ連れ戻してくれたMASKの仲間たちとステージに立ち続けると誓えば、第一期/第二期MASKのメンバー全員が、未散の意思へ賛同の声を上げ、MASKの継続を誓い合った。

2019年3月3日(日)、MASKはTSUTAYA O-EASTを舞台に「15th ANNIVERSARY YEAR LIVE～生還祭-2019-」を行うことを発表。今回は、未散の生還とMASKの15年間の歩みへの記念日という2つの愛でたいことが重なったように、オフィシャル先行で10月10日に発売した第一弾チケットは、発売するや瞬く間にVIP二階指定席はソールドアウトとなった。
あれから1ヶ月、第二弾となるYahoo!チケットの先行発売が11月11日(日)の22時よりスタートする。用意したチケットの内容は、下記のインフォメーションを見ていただきたい。12月12日(水)に一般発売分のチケットも抑えているとはいえ、MASKに対する今の期待感を鑑みると、今回の予定枚数分も瞬く間に売り切れそうだ。

さらに今回、嬉しいニュースとして、「MASKのメンバーが11月10日よりtwitterを開始する!」ことも告げてくれた。現状、MASKとしてのtwitterは動いているが、そこへMASKのメンバーのtwitterアカウントが増えることで、これまで以上にMASKの動きがファンたちにも伝わりそうだ。

第一期/第二期MASKのメンバーそれぞれが、すでに3月3日の「生還祭」へ向け水面下で動き始めている。この日は、MASKにとって平成最後となるライブ。そして、新たな元号と共に、MASK自体も新たな翼を広げ飛び立とうともしている。MASKにとっても未来へ向かううえでの分岐点となるワンマン公演のように、ぜひ、その姿を一人でも多くの人たちの瞼に焼き付けてもらいたい。
