とある日の、山川陽彩のライブの模様。ここへ記そうか。

ハロウィンという時期に相応しいSEに乗せて始まった山川陽彩のライブ。この日は、アコースティックギターに相棒のアッキーを従えての演奏。軽快に走り出すアッキーのギター演奏へ引っ張られるよう気持ちがウキウキと弾みだした観客たちが、自然と手拍子を始めていた。その演奏の上へ温かな思いを乗せるように、爽やかな声を響かせながら山川陽彩は「Sweet Heart」を歌いだした。切ない胸の内を綴った歌だ。でも、山川陽彩自身の気持ちが前を向いているせいか、その歌声に触れていると自然に気持ちが躍りだしていた。弾むように音を繰り出すアッキーのギターの音色が心を騒がせる。山川陽彩自身も、曲が進むごとに気持ちの熱を上げながら、見ている人たちの心を歌声で抱きしめていった。

　MCでは、「NEO歌謡曲シンガーと掲げているように、令和の時代に大好きな歌謡曲を復活させたい」こと。そして、「新しい歌謡曲のジャンルを開拓していきたい」思いを語っていた。

溜めを効かせたアコギのストローク音に乗せ、今にも壊れそうな切ない歌声を響かせながら、山川陽彩は「ピエロ」を歌いだした。自分が輝く場所を探すように。自分の存在をこの場所へ示すように。何より、みんなの居場所が山川陽彩の歌う場であることを願うように、「心配しないで 僕ならここにいるよ おどけたピエロになって 君のために歌うよ」と歌っていた。彼の歌声に心を傾けていると、両腕でそっと包み込まれてゆくような気持ちになれる。ちょっと切ないけど。でも、優しくておおらかな歌声へ自分を素直に委ねていたくなる。

　続く「kimi」も、寂しい気持ちへそっと寄り添ってくれる温かい歌だ。今はもう会えない君へ向け、共に夢を語り合っていた頃を懐かしむように。そのときの喜びや熱意が、今でも自分の心を燃やしていることを改めて噛みしめるように山川陽彩は歌っていた。誰にだって、その存在を思い出すことで前向く気持ちを取り戻せるときがあるだろう。そんな愛しい思いを、「kimi」を歌う山川陽彩の温かい声を通して思い返していた。

　「僕は冬に差しかかる頃が、季節の中で一番好きです。なぜなら…」と、学生時代の恋の話なども語りだす。季節の匂いで思い出が蘇るという話や、音楽を聞くことでいろんな思い出が蘇るという山川陽彩の話は、すごくよくわかる。だから人は、音楽に日々心を寄り添えてしまうのだろうから。

「青春時代に戻れる曲を聞いてください」の言葉に続いて歌ったのが、ノスタルジーな気持ちへ浸らせる「紙飛行機」だ。山川陽彩の深い思いを込めた歌声が、一人一人の心の中に閉まっていた思い出の扉を開ける鍵となり、淡い青春時代の姿や自分が輝いていた頃の記憶を心のスクリーンに映し出してゆく。いや、あの頃になりたかった自分の姿を、憧れも重ねながら映しだしていた。後悔も覚えながら思い出を振り返れる曲だからこそ、少しの切なさも重ねながら、セピア色していた思い出の風景へ、暖色系の色を薄く塗り重ねていた。

「紙飛行機」も夏を舞台にした歌だが、次に届けた「あの夏の約束」も、夏の終わりの時期に、ひと夏の思い出を振り返るように歌った内容だ。その思い出が眩しく輝いていたからこそ、手放した今もその思い出は、輝く思い出の中に浮かびあがってくる。あの頃の経験を思い出すように歌う山川陽彩の歌声に触れながら、切なさにも似た感情を心に覚えていた。胸がキュッとしめつけられるような淡い痛みを覚えていたのも、山川陽彩が悲しい思い出にさえ、心惹かれる色を塗り重ねていたからだ。

最後に山川陽彩が歌ったのが、様々なシンガーがカバー。何時の時代でも人の心を揺さぶってきた「愛をください」だ。今にも心壊れ、涙が零れそうな悲しみを湛えた歌声で、山川陽彩は祈りにも似た思いを、言葉のひと言ひと言を噛みしめながら歌声に乗せていた。今は、生きるうえで心疲れることの多い時代。安心よりも不安ばかりが先に脳裏をかすめてゆく。だからこそ、人生を生きる戦士たちの心を安らげようと、山川陽彩は「愛をください」を歌っていた。心に痛みを抱える人たちすべてを温かく抱きしめるように、山川陽彩もまた痛みを携えた声で、同じように一人一人の心の痛みへ寄り添いながら歌っていた。

　「愛をください」は、これからレコーディングに入るという。全生演奏、ストリングスも入るという。この楽曲が、どんな風に形になるのかも楽しみにしていたい。
