the pillows、軽やかさと円熟味をブレンドした年内ラストワンマン！

the pillowsの25周年記念アルバム『ムーンダスト』。そのリリースツアーの東京公演が、12月12日（金）に赤坂BLITZで行なわれた。

早い時間から寒空の下で入場を待ちわびていたファンは、午後6時の開場とともにフロアに集結。たちまち場内は熱気で包まれていった。そして、午後7時をいくらか過ぎたところで、おなじみのSEとともにメンバーが登場。ニューアルバム『ムーンダスト』のオープニングナンバー「Clean Slate Revolution」から、いきなりピロウズならではの熱いロックンロールで会場をぐいぐいと引っぱっていく。

アルバムツアーということで、シングルリリースもされた「About A Rock'n'Roll Band」をはじめ、『ムーンダスト』のカラーに合わせたロックンロール寄りの選曲になっているものの、そこはやはりthe pillows。心に沁みる重厚なナンバーも健在だ。『ムーンダスト』に収録の「アネモネ」やバンドの25年間を凝縮したタイトルソング「ムーンダスト」、そして往年の名曲「ハイブリッド レインボウ」では会場を幻想的な色に塗り替えてみせた。

新曲、定番曲、今まであまり演奏してこなかったレアなロックンロールナンバーを絶妙にミックスさせたこの日のセットリストは、合間に挟まれるユーモラスなMCに加え、まさかのサプライズ演出やハプニング（!?）と相まって、ロックコンサート（ライヴ）本来のダイナミズムを120%体現！ 軽やかさと円熟味をブレンドした、the pillowsの真骨頂と言えるものだった。

the pillowsは、これで年内のワンマンライヴが終了。年末のカウントダウンイベントを挟んで、1月後半から再びツアーに突入する。
