鈴木慶一と高橋幸宏によるTHE BEATNIKS、30周年記念BOXのリリースが決定

1985年にY.M.O.散開後の高橋幸宏と鈴木慶一（ムーンライダーズ）により設立されたT・E・N・Tレーベルの30周年を記念して、初のTHE BEATNIKSのボックスセットが発売される。

今作は、80年代のミュージックシーンを牽引した伝説的レーベルより、時代を象徴するアーティストのボックス企画商品。各レーベルに残されたオリジナルアルバム3枚をハイレゾアップコンバートによる最新デジタルリマスター。さらに新たなボーナストラックを収録している。

DVDには、2001年に渋谷AXで行われた未発売ライヴ映像や、倉庫より発見された資料映像より1987年にインクスティック芝浦ファクトリーで行われた『FUJI AV LIVE』の未発売ライヴ映像、そして1982年発売の未DVD化ビデオクリップ集『出口主義』を収めている。

さらに高橋幸宏×鈴木慶一のロングインタビュー他を掲載の70Ｐブックレット、『EXITENTIALISM出口主義』UK盤レプリカジャケットを封入。THE BEATNIKSの軌跡を網羅した記念盤ボックスとなる。

■高橋幸宏
81年から活動していて、今回T.E.N.T.レーベルの30周年という節目にこのような作品が出せるのは嬉しい。なぜ、ムーンライダーズの鈴木慶一と、YMOの高橋幸宏が今もTHE BEATNIKS を続けているのか、その一端を見てもらえたらいいと思います。二人の間はT.E.N.T.レーベルの時がお互い一番近かったけれど、THE BEATNIKS 以外のソロ活動の中でも、なぜ自分が慶一の詞や音楽的な要素をいつも参考にしていたかも、3枚通して聴いてもらえるとよく分かると思います。

今回のボックスでは、3枚のアルバムをまとめて聴けて、さらに音質もいい。80年～90年代に比べてよりよいクオリティで聴いてもらえるということは、とても嬉しいことです。実を言うと音楽をやっている人は、もっといい音質で聴いているわけで、それを一般の人に聴いて欲しいと、心の底から望んでいました。特に、1枚目の二人が手作業で作った音源の裏側にある空調の音、影のようなものが見えたり、聴こえたりしたら嬉しいと思います。THE BEATNIKSというバンドは解散したわけでもないし、一生ものとして存在し続けると、いつでもやれるぞ、と、特に2011年以降そう思います。二人の距離が作品を生み出すんだと。それは近々かも知れないなと思います。
