エレファントカシマシ、異常な空気感の客電付き渋公ライヴが完全に蘇る！

エレファントカシマシの伝説となっている1988年の渋谷公会堂ライヴが、完全収録されたパッケージで蘇る。さらに、一夜限りのプレミアム上映も決定した。

エレファントカシマシが長年にわたって高い評価を受け続けている大きな要因の一つが“ライヴ”であり、そのいくつかに伝説と称されるものがある。遡ること29年前、1988年9月10日の渋谷公会堂ライヴはまさにそのひとつ。

デビュー（1988年3月）後わずか半年。発表時には無謀との声も上がっていたと言われる。当時映像制作の第一人者となりつつあった故・坂西伊作が撮影監督として企画段階から加わり、すべてが進められた。

剥き出しの無機質な舞台。バンドが登場し、おもむろに演奏が始まるが、客席の照明は付いたまま。演奏は力強く闘争的で、それが凄まじい圧力に変わる。そして、随所でヴォーカル宮本浩次の感情が露になる。異常な空気感が会場を支配した。怒涛の全14曲、緊迫の70分。終演まで客席の照明が落ちることはなかった。

この伝説的ライヴは16mmフィルムのカメラ5台で全編撮影、音はデジタルマルチテープで録音されたが、映像はこれまでほとんど世に送り出されることはなかった。だが、ライヴから約29年経過した2017年、映像・音源を最新技術によってレストアリマスタリングし、ここに完全に蘇ることになった。ライヴ映像を完全収録したパッケージ（Blu-ray・DVD）は7月26日リリース予定。

パッケージ発売に先駆け、7月11日（火）には、Zepp Tokyo・Zepp Nambaで一夜限りのプレミアム上映も決定した。ライヴ感覚で伝説のライヴの臨場感をリアルに体感できる絶好の機会だ。チケットは6月1日（木）より、プレオーダー開始。

また、エレカシの新曲「風と共に」も6月1日（木）より、NHK『みんなのうた』でオンエアがスタートとなった。宮本がNHK『みんなのうた』「はじめての僕デス」を歌ったのは、NHK東京児童合唱団に所属していた今からおよそ40年前（1976年8月～9月初回放送）。それからバンドデビュー30周年を迎えた今、自身の半生振り返って『みんなのうた』に書き下ろしたのが「風と共に」だ。“子供も大人も、夢を胸にいだいていきてけたら”――そんな想いが込められたエレカシ約1年ぶりの新曲となる。
